If you go by 'would have died with a bad roll', I'd bet that number goes way up. I know I've had that experience at least twice.

Me too, I was oh so close to death once this game. Got lucky with some monster misses to survive the first week. Since then I have always made sure to have healing potions. Still a couple worries, but nothing where I think I should have died.

That's an interesting idea, too. What do you think, ntn? I'm probably at something like 24-26 out of 42 hp, have 1 of my 7 mirror images left, but I still have charm and spook available. So we can try going in there and seeing if we can make some coin. Keep in mind that if there's only one monster in there, it'll attack you first. Also, if we stay here, we can use the next morning to investigate the cauldron (yes, I'm still hung up on there being something in the cauldron).
