I don't understand what just happened. What was the count on our losing our block and why is July '01 the one who conquered it?

Ps. I'd suggest leaving Jul-01 alone as they're kindly acting as a buffer for us from attacks - hence I say ...

Attack Nov-03

(which leaves only Jul-01 and Nov-03 able to hit us , Nov-03 can only attack us or Jul-01 so I reckon we're on a winner here)

Of course. You were in a good position BEFORE we were wiped out.

What a shame. All we needed were two of our attackers to switch to defense and we would've had a huge upset. Ah well. Twas fun trying.

From what I saw we got whomped (by just about everyone - damn bullies ) ...

Jul 01 got the blocks as that was the date with the most amount of attackers hitting us.

Its left us in a very very good position as we're now fairly protected from attacks and continue our plots for world domination without attracting so much unfriendly attention (at least initially).
