WHAT A FINISH!
Down 10-9 (the opponents had hit a FG with :34 to play to take the lead.) 4th and 1 from the 48 yard line. :06 to play... and... http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=480263 Oh, and my guy made the key block to stop the last man from catching him

The Admirals had a defensive stand at the end to win. It was first and goal on the 6.5 with 15 seconds to go and the Admirals put up an incomplete, a four yard pass, and an incomplete before time expired.

Nice my TE had 7 catches, 60+ yards, and was listed as one of the top performers! And no drops!!
My punter had a decent game too (for a punter that is). Now getting some punts in the 40 yard range. Good stuff. Cheers! |

McManus and Duhnam are my heroes.
Nice to see Alexander Thunder make all of his FG's this time. Looks like the training is paying off.

I think it's a factor for everyone. 29 guys on defense had double digit plays, no DL played for than 35 snaps, which wasn't even half the plays. 7 DEs got playing time. I don't want to keep anyone on the bench, but since XP is based on playing time, splitting it like this isn't doing anyone any good. Especially since so many CPU guys are still getting time. Might be time to just trim the roster a bit, maybe spread some guys around on the various FOFC teams. |

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=480102 Two of my three tackles were on back-to-back plays. Weird seeing my guy as the only one to react to the run. It looks like 15 of my 18 plays were in the fourth quarter.

I'm going to radically adjust the setting for substitutions to keep starters in as long as possible. I just noticed we had a all-CPU OL in there on that last play.

I have no idea why.. I lowered my training, I had 95 energy going into this game, have stamina 22+ .. Not sure why I'm just not playing. Not gotten much in the way of xp for my guy either the last few games. |

Once we are subbed out we aren't going back in, for the most part (we being the entire team). I don't know how the In/Out settings work, but I'd lower whatever number it is that puts starters back in.

Okay, so right now we need the following:
3rd String QB Backup DT (Preferably 2) 4th WR 4th Tackle Even if you only create a lvl 1 guy, I'd rather have that than the CPU players, and you'd get a spot on special teams. If you create a WR and focus solely on Speed and Agility, then I'll make you the KR/PR.

Dola,
Just created level 4 WR Fingers O'Neill. He'll be content being a back up/4th WR. No ego, just for the team. He is speedy and training on his agility. Hands are decent too. Cheers! Last edited by hawk4669 : 03-29-2008 at 06:30 PM. |

Alright, I'll make a DT and post it here when I'm done
EDIT - what type of DT do we want? A run stuffer or a pass rusher? Last edited by bhlloy : 03-29-2008 at 06:20 PM. |

Alright, Benjie Widebody, level 3 DT is available for the Silverbacks. I put all my points into strength, tackling, stamina and a few into the run-defense related special skills.
On a related note, I only just noticed you can put more than 1 point into each special skill. Will definitely have to go back and re-evaluate my FB once he hits the next level. |

My WR was less than 5 min old and got 4 offers from other human controlled teams. Bizarre. Cheers! |

Joined a human controlled team and won today. Problem is, I don't know what I contributed to it. There are no blocking stats for FBs and I didn't carry or receive today. I made one tackle though...w00t.

I can't help but wonder how much money the developer(s) are making off of it. With the rapid expansion of players, it seems like it is extremely lucarative. |

A balance is good. Don't worry too much about stamina. As a backup, it'd be best to maximize his impact while he's in the game.

Those were pretty odd looking plays, Taz. I'd like to point out though, that Sam Jolley looked like he had the TE in coverage on the first play, and sweartogod he looks like he's being blatantly held on the second. What the shit, ref, openyerfargingeyes!!!!111! |

OK, what the hell does the "confidence" rating do. I've been completely ignoring it so far, but is it like a luck modifier or does it have a specific application for each position?
Seems like a strange skill to have for a football sim, but each to their own... |

My guess is that it is the most important for kickers, punters, and then probably quarterbacks, centers, nose tackles, middle linebacker, etc. (the field/line/d-line/defense generals). I am guessing that during the game not only does your energy change, but also your morale, that is from reading the descriptions of some of the special abilities. And, my guess is that "confidence" helps you gain/lose morale in the same way that "stamina" helps you gain/lose energy during the game. |

I don't know much about confidence, but one of the DT abilities has a chance of lowering the opponent's morale and it states that by lowering their morale it makes it easier to tackle them. I don't know if morale has anything to do with confidence and if it doesn't, what you can do to effect morale. |

If anyone's interested in joining, I have 5 starting gigs available on my team (Berlin Blitzkrieg - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=606 ):
OG - pass protection emphasis OT - pass protection emphasis DT - run stuffer DT - pass rusher SLB - run stuffer I'll maximize your PT to allow for maximal player development and will pay enough to ensure full training flexibility. PM me here or there (GLB) if interested and I'll suit you up for tomorrow's game. Last edited by IrishHand : 03-30-2008 at 02:25 PM. |

Posted some strategy stuff in the Silverbacks forum. We face the 8-1 Mexican Hitmen, but I think we have a good shot to beat them.

So, the first game between two FOFC owned teams was a low scoring affair that Trottenham won 6-3. Neither team could get much going in the first quarter and traded punts back and forth without anyone getting a first down. Until, on the Trolls third possession their QB Rommel Irons threw a pick, which was followed by the Toledo Swords first 1st down. However, after only a few plays, QB C Dub, returned the favor and the ball to Trottenham when LB Butkus Stalwart intercepted a long pass to TE Nike Typhoon who was in triple coverage. This led to the first scoring attempt of the game, a missed field goal by the Trolls' kicker Jonathan Campbell. The second quarter was better for both teams with Toledo able to put together a drive which resulted in the first score of the game, a field goal by kicker Steve Berlin. The Swords went into the locker room with the momentum and the lead, 3-0. And, Toledo kept that momentum when they recovered a fumble on the second half kickoff. However, they were not able to convert and chose to punt instead of attempting a 48 yard field goal. Trottenham QB Rommel Irons finally started to connect on some passes and the Trolls worked their way down to the Swords twenty yard line before settling for a field goal to tie the game up. A quick three and out by the Swords, led to another long drive by the Trolls which got all the way down to Toledo's five yard line. But a sack of QB Irons by DE Icekill Carrillo on first and goal from the five stopped the Trolls for a loss of ten yards and they eventually had to settle for what ended up being the game winning field goal. The fourth quarter was a back and forth affair with both teams playing for field position. However, a second interception thrown by QB Irons set up the Swords inside the Trolls territory. The most curious call of the game came when this drive stalled on the 28.5 yard line with 5:05 left on the clock, as Toledo decided to punt instead of attempting a 46 yard field goal to tie the game. They did get the ball back for one more possession, but four straight incomplete passes ended the Toledo Swords chance at gaining a win over the Tottenham Trolls. http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=2355 |

Yeah good defensive battle, my defense is good and has allowed only 6 points in 2 games, but my offense is so poor and could not score either. I have signed now a level 5 WB and level 4 and 3 WR's so things should change soon and we still have a chance to reach the playoffs.
If i could find a good starting DT i could be in heaven, i have only a level 2 and leve 1 DT's.

Well I've joined the game and have a few characters - I've got a level 4 punter who's currently on a CPU team - I'd love to join one of the FOFC teams though, if someone can use him.
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=78627 Also I've got a quarterback, level 4 pocket passer - Jake Trassel. Let me know if any of the FOFC teams need him. http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=80360 Last edited by Peregrine : 03-30-2008 at 08:41 PM. |

The Chilton Roughnecks need a MLB if anyone is interested. The one I have starting now just bought his own Team. We have human starters at every position and are improving. Also could use a #2 WR as I will be trading the current one away......

I also added your team to the above team owner list. That makes 4 FOFC owned teams in the USA AA League.
Today was another busy day in Goal Line Blitz, I notice that at the moment there are only 20 CPU teams left to be claimed in the entire game, and there are now over 26,000 users signed up. |
