Well, you don't want to just let it bounce again and hope Texas touches it too early.

How in the hell did Kansas State only score 3 against Baylor earlier this season?

The idea of a Rutgers in the National Championship game is not so far a stretch now.

When I saw that ball in the air, I was so sure that a Texas player was gonna pick it off and run back for the TD.

Rutgers would still need a lot of help, but they got far more than I expected today.

It is on Fox Sports, if you get that channel.

USC is up 14-0. Oregon just barely missed a a TD and then missed a close FG.

I just realized that the Michigain-Ohio State winner will have 50 days off between their last regular season game and the national title game. That is a long freakin' time.

I think it'll be impossible to judge Rutgers chances until we saw how far they move up this week. They may not need Arkansas or Notre Dame to lose.

I'll personally be surprised if they pass either in the human polls, but point taken... when we see the BCS rankings we'll probably have a better idea.

Given a choice between an Arkansas SEC Champ with 1 loss and an undefeated Rutgers, I honestly think the voters would put Rutgers in the big game.

And you can't honestly tell me that at least some of those things will happen. Granted, it would have be better had Florida lost today, but still ...

I really wonder if Rutgers can beat West Virginia on the road. That's the real wildcard here. You'd have to think so, with the way Schiano drew up that plan to beat Louisville in that 2nd half as if he planned it all along.

But...it's a pretty big if.

Someone posted earlier their Top 10, and mine's not gonna be far off ...

This is assuming USC wins.

1: Ohio State
2: Michigan
3: Florida
4: USC
5: Notre Dame
6: Rutgers
7: Louisville
8: West Virginia
9: Arkansas
10: Boise State

If both win out, it will be interesting to see who the favorite is in that game. I am guessing it will be WVU by 4-5 points.

I am thinking Boise State is going to have a real tough time moving up the rest of this season. I think the coaches, both consciously and subconsciously, will start to realize that they are legitimate threat to crack the BCS and take a spot away from one of the big boy conferences, so they will have a tough time moving up. Their less than dominating win today will not earn them any goodwill in the polls.

Agreed.

wait till they play Nevada on the road. Nevada will win that game anyway.

Boise is a lot like rutgers. It doesnt matter much what they do, they have a preconception about them. Both teams are going to be counting far more on what the other teams dont do. Today helped boise as much as it did rutgers.

Yes. The second-best team, right now, is one of Ohio State or Michigan, and I can't tell which one because they are so different stylistically.

Also, Arkansas is hurt by taking it on the chin from USC. I know that was at the beginning of the season, but I look at the kinds of teams they see in the SEC, and I don't think they've proven it was a fluke. There really aren't any convincing passing attacks with Ainge hurt. I'm not convinced they would beat SC if they played again, or ND either. They'll get their shot at Florida.

Well, my last post of the night..

I hope the Badgers can at least get to 10th in the BCS after this crazy weekend. If they truly get to 10th, that means they have a gauranteed shot at being 8th at regular season's end. LSU or Arkansas will eventually drop below the Badgers along with ND or USC.

It doesn't matter anyways since the BCS won't invite the Badgers to a BCS Bowl, but hopefully it will allow for a rule change next season. If you've got three top teams in the nation in your conference, why should you be penalized for it? Silly.

I want to stay up for this USC/Oregon game, but it won't be over 'til after midnight..

Anyhow, good night.

Oregon State, after that USC win, will help them out. I think Oregon state(not sure if they even played today) will finish top 25, and boise creamed OSU.

On a sad note though, their star RB is i nthe hospital now.
