You can't stop Keith Van Horn. You can only hope to contain him

I have completely changed my mind about Steve Nash. He is the mvp of this league. He's the most unstoppable offensive player since Jordan. Has he ever picked up his dribble????

The Heat seem to be satisfied with a split. Very lackluster start

Still plenty of time left, but looks like the Pistons showed up today.

This is about where the wheels came off last game. Let's finish them off this time, Mavs...

Thank goodness the Suns cooled off from the three point line. Barring some sort of miracle, the series is all tied up...

WTF has happened to the Pistons? I don't remember them ever playing zone defense much less playing a zone for the better part of a half.

Oh I am enjoying as well, but I have had a great deal of respect for the way this team played defense. Hard nose man to man with great help D on the weak side. They don't look anything like that right now.

Miami up 3-1. Thank you, God. Boring-ball is going out the window for this year's Finals!

Detroit is done. They are fighting among themselves, they are not playing good team defense, and most importantly they don't have anyone who can stop Wade.

While I think it's premature to count them out, it's a massive up-hill climb they are faced with against a very good team that is clicking at the right moment. This certainly isn't the Cleveland Cavaliers we are talking about here.

A Miami-Mavs finals would be fun. Suns-Heat; not so much, though it would be interesting to see who mans up on Shaq.

dola.

Is it just me or does anyone else feel that Wade is going to retire in 4-5 years due to some kind of injury acquired from falling awkwardly so many damn times!?

I am not ready to say the Pistons are done yet at all. This is still a team that has made two straight NBA Finals. That being said I may have to admit that Pat Riley knows more about basketball than I do I was not a big fan of the moves that he made in the off season nor the decision to replace Van Gundy. But guys like Walker, Williams, Payton are all playing well in the roles they are being ask to fill and Shaq is playing than he has in three years.

Let's face it, Riley blew up last season's team and had this Heat team assembled to be able to do one thing: Beat the Pistons.

Maybe, but couldnt last years Heat beat this years Pistons? Riley brought those new players in cause he knew it would take time for them to play well and it would give him an excuse to fire the man who saved the team from Rileys screw ups in the first place.

Just like the Spurs were still going to beat the Mavs when they were down 3-1, right?

Not that they didn't come incredibly close to doing just that...

Went to the Suns game last night. Great game, and Phoenix is great team to watch in person. Not very impressed with Dirk though in my first and only in person game with him.

Pretty happy with the Heat only being down by 4. Hopefully, Flip "forgets" how to coach again in the second half.

The pressure is on the Heat now to win at home in game 6.

They don't want to play in Detroit in game 7.

I dunno... but Shaq ought to have a little pride on in game 6 after that SportsCenter highlight. I don't think I've ever seen him stuffed like that.

Because Shaq is the hardest person in the history of the NBA to officiate and Ben is smaller than him so you can't really tell.

Before anyone says it, I do not feel that the refs took the game away from the Heat. The Heat did not play well enough to win plain and simple. I just can't stand the idea that the size of a player makes the determination as to whether there is a foul or not.

Dirk is a brilliant offensive player and a pretty good rebounder, but I wouldn't be ready to hand him an MVP award yet. They guy seems to have a long way to go on the defensive end before I would consider it. That being said, Nash is no defensive stopper either...

Wow this is fun. From watching Rory Sparrow, Kevin Edwards, Billy Thompson, Pat Cummings and the Heat's first star Rony Seikaly lose their first 17 games to seeing them make their first NBA finals is really sweet. I gotta give the Pistons credit. Even with 5 minutes left, I was worried that they might have one more run in them. I am really happy that there was no big celebration afterwards with champagne et al. The Eastern Conference title is nice but the focus is on the NBA title. With both the Mavs and the Suns looking for their first title as well, this ought to be a fun Finals to watch.

Lots of touch fouls early. Let's see if the refs continue to call it real tight all night.
