Thanks Jeeber.

Check out this thread on the CoH boards... an exploit to get to level 20 right quick. You just need a willing level 40 to help.

http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showf...5&o=&fpart=all

You have to read about half way down the thread to see the 'sploit by Tilnak.

The Black Fedora is number 4 in the top pic above. Below that is Albino claw, GI Jeeber and I think Aucoin in a weird threesome after dying in the sewers.

I'll send Jeeber single shots of the group in a larger format so you can see it a bit better.

One thing I really don't like about CoH so far is the levelling system. In Everquest, you only had one chance to screw up in building your character, at character creation. In CoH, you instead have a chance to screw up every time you level. Charbroiler chose Resist Elements at level 8, but I later read that that power is one often skipped by fire tankers. On another character, I accidentally added slots to a power that didn't really need them. It just seems like it is too easy to make a choice that will gimp your character forever.

I will be on in a couple minutes but I am unsure how long I can stay this evening.

the power selection thing drives me nuts espcially that with patch come changes that are unexpected sometimes and there is nothing you can do about them.

As an inv/axe tanker as my main i am expected to hold argo everything else is secondary. I took this as i wanted to be a dwarf 4' huge build wielding an axe sounds great. In order to do my job i need provoke and taunt, teleport foe and teleport for travel due to the immobility of unyielding stance you need to take all but your last power, stamina and weave are kinda needed (weave could be skipped but you need tough 72.5 % smash/lethal vs 90% smash/lethal makes a difference) that leaves me swoop and nothing else, great i can use unslotted brawl at 40 as part of my devistating attack sequence, when i envisioned my character it was with powers like cleave, pendulum, buildup and beheader. Now with the changes i should i have stayed with my original plan. Respec should have been in when the game went retail or don't change powers until its ready(isn't that what beta is for?)

All online games make changes as they go on. Your user base is so much bigger and you see flaws when you go live as opposed to beta. Most online games also let you respec your char after all these changes are made. (Yeah I know, they never are..but...) DAoC let you respec about 3 months after the game went live. I expect the same for this game. They are still tweaking it and should allow a respec in an month or two. Depends on when they think all 'major' changes are done.

The msg boards of CoH have a lot of stories about people restarting chars with each change. I myself will just wait..though, as a healer with leadership, I think I am okay.

If anyone desires to level up someone tonight for the Tues/Thurs group, Aucion will be briefling on and then I will level up a controller most likely to give me an alt to the group. We did setup a SuperGroup last night, about 7 people have the ability to let you join it right now. I'll post my alt's name after I create him or her.

Morphine Mints was deleted when I realized the next day that the name was terrible. Doctor Robert is my new defender, level 2. I should be on a little later with one of my guys.

I have been levelling up Doctor Robert the past couple days...he is up to level 7 but I don't think he will be quite high enough for this week's fun. I should be there tomorrow with Charbroiler.

If I'm ever on Virtue I'm going to playing as Miss Risa (named in honor of my woman), an energy/energy blaster.

I'm about to log on as Homer J, though...

Additions To The The Training Room Test Server: 6/15

Welcome to City of Heroes First Feature Update!

You’ve faced and defeated Hellions, Skulls, the 5th Column, the Circle of Thorns and many, many other villains. You’ve gone from novice hero to a full-fledged scourge of evildoers. The streets of Paragon City are safer, its citizens able to pursue their lives without the overwhelming specter of crime hovering over their heads. You’ve earned a job well done and the thanks of a grateful city…but that was yesterday. Today, new threats are upon you. Today, you have to bind up your wounds, strengthen your powers and take a heroic leap—

Through the Looking Glass

Be prepared for new zones, new missions and other exciting additions. Be prepared to experience the next level of super-powered gameplay.

Through the Looking Glass Update & Patch 2.20040610.0 Notes:

2 New City Zones:

•Peregrine Island – This zone, north of Talos Island, is home to the secretive Portal Corporation. The company’s tight-lipped attitude has recently led to concerns that their fledgling technology has somehow rendered the island dimensionally unstable.

• Rikti Crash Site – In this zone, the Rikti War still rages. Join the battle and keep Earth safe from the alien invaders.

New twists to missions:

• 5th Column Prison – When you’re defeated in certain equipped 5th Column bases, you will have more to deal with than a hospital bill. The Column has learned how to override the city’s emergency teleportation network, and they have no intention of letting you go free.

• Circle of Thorns Crystal Prison – Like the 5th Column, if you are defeated in selected lairs, the Circle of Thorns will have a big surprise in store for you.

• Circle of Thorns Gate Room – The Circle has found a new method of protecting its dark secrets: the Gate Room. This room summons forth hordes of Circle Behemoths to threaten any invaders.

• Circle of Thorns Orichalchum Crystals – Magic can bring power, or magic can bring pain. These crystals have become infused with the Circle’s dark magic, and heroes will often find themselves surprised by the results.

• Tech Danger Lab – Technology can be somewhat unreliable. The only way to find out what the Tech Danger Lab holds is to experiment and observe the results.

Outdoor Mission Maps:

• The villains of Paragon City have taken the fight to the streets. Battle your foes in instanced outdoor missions within the city itself, or journey to bizarre alternate worlds and spread justice throughout the multiverse.

Contact\Mission\Story Arc Content For levels 40-50:

• The sick amusements of the Carnival of Shadows have turned deadly. Learn the source of their powers on your quest to save a single soul.

• Expose the darkness in Countess Crey’s closets and bring her secrets to light at last.

• Begin to plumb the depths of the mysterious Malta Group, with a little help from a pair of super spies.

• Nemesis: How far will the Prussian Prince of Automatons go in his bid to conquer America? Find out, and put an end to his evil plans.

• As with many new technologies, Portal Corporation’s advances involve great risks. Venture to alternate realities to keep Paragon City safe from the many hazards of the multiverse.

• Is there any hope for peace between the Rikti and Earth? Not if you don’t keep your eye on the factions that have begun to splinter Rikti society.

• The Praetorian supervillains may well be the greatest threat your fair city has ever faced. Take the battle to their home dimension to keep Paragon City safe.

Trial Room:

• Sewer Trial Room – Deep within the sewer system, something is growing. Characters between levels 38 and 40 must battle the Hydra to keep it contained – but be sure to come prepared for a long, hard fight.

Tailor:

• Now your costume can change and evolve with your hero. At 3 locations within Paragon City, you can update your outfit – for a price.

• At levels 20, 30 and 40, you can earn extra costume slots by performing tasks for Icon’s tailors. Now you can customize your look on a daily basis!

Trials:

•"The Hive" - The villains in The Hive (Hamidon, et al.) are now level 50, rather than level 40. The rewards have also been adjusted accordingly.

Balance Changes:

• Decreased the difficulty of higher level foes. Foes 4 and 5 levels higher than you are now easier. Foes 6 and 7 levels higher than you are slightly easier, but still very difficult.

• Fixed a bug that made some powers buff/heal less in an AoE if it hit a villain target (like Transfusion, Siphon Power, or Twilight Grasp) that was higher level. These powers will now buff/heal based on the casters level.

• Fixed a bug that was causing Scrapper/Regeneration/Resilience to drain a tiny bit of END every 10 seconds.

• Fixed Short Help description for Claws/Focus. It used to say it was a Melee AoE, but it is actually a Ranged Targeted power. Power did not change, only description was corrected.

• Fixed Short Help description for Storm Summoning/O2 Boost. It used to say it was a Ranged AoE, but it is actually a Ranged Targeted Ally power. Power did not change, only description was corrected.

• Fixed Short Help and long description for Energy Blast/Explosive Blast. Actual damage is Moderate, but description said it was Minor. Power did not change, only description was corrected.

• Fixed O2 Boost and Clear Mind Resistance to Sleep (it would awaken slept Allies, but it gave no resistance).

• Burn now also protects the caster from Sleep and Hold effects.

• Fixed inconsistency in the short and long help of Energy Blast/Explosive Blast (power did not change).

• Provoke now accepts Accuracy Enhancements.

• Added a Critical Hit (small % change to do double damage) to ALL Scrapper Primary attack powers. Existing scrapper powers that already had critical hit damage have a higher success chance than other powers.

• Added Resistance to Hold and Knockback to Moment of Glory (technically, this is a bug fix).

• Decreased the Accuracy BONUS of higher level villains when attacking lower level Heroes. This change effectively improved Defensive powers (buffs and Defense armors). There was a discrepancy that made Resist Damage powers more effective against higher level foes than Defense powers. This change does not change any power directly, but allows Defense powers to be more effective against higher level foes. They should be equally effective as Resist Damage powers. This change does slightly reduce a higher level Heroes ability to hit lower level villains, but it should be hardly noticed since High level Heroes are significantly more powerful than lower level villains and will still hardly miss anyway.

• Fixed a bug that allowed Slow (Slow Recharge Time) powers to increase a target's recharge time to infinity. Maximum debuff to recharge time is now 4 times normal recharge (this applies to villains and Heroes).

• Fixed a bug that allowed Debuff Damage powers to debuff a target’s damage to zero. A target’s damage can not be debuffed below 10% of its normal damage (this applies to villains and Heroes).

• There is now a MAX damage resistance of 90% for all (standard) damage types. No combination of powers or enhancements can bring your damage resistance beyond 90%. Any damage resistance beyond 90% will go towards damage resistance protection (it will protect you from getting your damage resistance debuffed).

• Increased Max possible Resistance to Speed Running, Flying and Swimming to 100% (villains and Heroes).

• Fixed Collision/Selection box of many larger villains.

Physics:

• The jump code was slightly changed to better reflect reality, to be modified by powers better, and to provide overall better gameplay.

Networking:

• Added networking code that handles client stalls better and should reduce disconnects for users with poor network connections.

New Slash Commands:

• nojumprepeat - Disables jump auto-repeat

• whereami - Tells the name of the shard/map you are on

• costume_change, cc - Change current costume

Known Issues for this Patch:

• Villains can attack through prison doors and enter your cell.

• Error when flying very fast and switching to Hover.

• Players who logged out in the Outbreak zone may find themselves in the Rikti Crash Site when they log back in.

• Ghost Falcon's mission does not load the map properly.

• After deleting a character, the keyboard does not work when you log in.

• Hydra tentacles run onto rocks and ledges.

• Able to change costumes when timer is at 15 seconds.

• When Tailoring, pressing "Reset" turns skin color to top left choice.

• Auto Turret has a Mek Man robot on it.

• Vehicles in Rikti Crash Site uses the Mek Men model.

• Dark Servant power (Player and NPC) looks like a Mek Man model.

• Malta Gunslinger animation is missing a weapon.

• Group buffs and targeted buffs show the hero’s name incorrectly in the chat window.

I was working on my scrapper Professor Ion today. I got a mission in Steel Canyon to stop the Skulls' plot...an office building mission to rescue 5 hostages and defuse 5 bombs. It was a timed mission and even though the Professor is a scrapper he handled the bad guys easily on all 3 levels. The hard part was finding the bombs. It was a 75 minute mission and the last 30 of that was searching for the damn bombs with no more enemies left to fight. Although I got a bit frustrated, finding the last bomb with less than 30 seconds left was a bit of a thrill. Sneaky bastages had placed it behind the desk in a side room.

Charbroiler made 13 last night.

Yes it was fun last night, except for the ridiculously hard initial mission we attempted. Running through Skyway City is always fun too.

One more level to superjump!

Sorry, Cometflash. I checked back in a couple times to see if you were on but didn't see you, and I doubt I will be able to return tonight. Hope to see you on the weekend to help catch you up in level.

Bad,

No problem, thanks for letting me know. Got a mission somewhere in Perez Park I may need help with-just finding it that is. Got very close to it, but seemed to always be on the other side of impenetrable forest.

I also have yet to pick a power pool. Suggestions that would be helpful for the group, or should I just go with a travel power? Cometflash is a Rad/Rad Defender.

Silent Partner will probably be on. I love BlackFedora, but his secondary Powerset blows. Silent Partner's secondary powerset is Kinetics which has some powers that let me drain foes of endurance and turn it into HPs for any friendlies close to the mob. He is only 7 or 8th security level, but with sidekick we should be all right.

If respec was available, I would just switch BFs powerset.

See you all tonight at 9pm EST.

I delayed answering this, hoping that someone more knowledgable would chime in. From reading the official forums, it looks like Haste is pretty essential to blasters, controllers and defenders, and a lot of people were advocating Super Speed as the better travel power for those classes since it comes from the same power pool as Haste.

I should be on tonight with Charbroiler. If we have extra tankers I could bring Professor Ion instead.

Thanks Bad,

I'll take a look at Haste when I get the chance to pick a power again. I should be on as Cometflash tonight monitor problems not withstanding.

Thomkal, had that mission in Perez that you are referring to ... you have to be way south to navigate up to it. Something like 400 feet south before you begin ascending north towards that mission. It took me a long while to find the entrance with another player helping me.

I'll plan on being around with Ike this evening, but could switch to Doc Evil (still only level 9) if we need a healer.

Around 5:30pm EST on Virtue, my friend and I will be on playing all night. Name: Supernaught

Friend is a tank, I'm a controller with earth/emp

Anyone is welcomed to join. We are only 6th level, so if you wish to make a new character, I do not see why you shouldn't be able to. We play almost every Wed.
