Hmmm, the Boulware pick doesn't make a lot of sense for the Seahawks unless they're thinking of converting him to Safety. With Anthony Simmons and Chad Brown, OLB is not a need and Boulware is probably too small for the position anyway.

Wow! Greg Jones is coming to the Jags.
Every other teams lost is our gain. Nice pick by the Jags.
FSU fans here in Jax should be very happy.

Since when did Corey Chavous become an NFL Draft Guru? He has knowledge of all of these players I've never heard of on the Draft Chat through Draftcast.

Shorty, Chavous records every game he can, mostly pro that i know, but at last years draft he said how he wants to be a "Mel" kinda guy and loves evaluating players

Well, maybe... anyone know what they gave up? Seems the Browns still have their third round pic.

Okay, here we go. For Sean Jones, Browns send their third (#68), fifth (#141), and sixth (#173). They still have a #4, #6, and #7 for the draft; but are done for the day.

no way they gave up too much:

Lions-Chiefs
Lions get: Kansas City's first-round pick (No. 30), which they used to select Virginia Tech RB Kevin Jones.
Chiefs get: Detroit's second-round pick (No. 36), which they used to select Oregon DT Junior Siavii, fourth-round pick (No. 105) and the Lions' fifth-round pick in 2005.

What I don't understand is teams trading pretty high picks to move up one spot. Cleveland traded a second round pick to move up from 7 to 6, Miami traded a 4th round pick to go from 20 to 19. If the team ahead of them really wanted the guy they were going after, would that team have been willing to make the trade in the first place? So did Detroit call Cleveland and say, "I know you guys really want Winslow, but if you don't fork up a second round pick right now we're going to F you over"? Everyone in the house knew Detroit wanted Roy Williams all along. Just friggin stupid trades IMO.

I've seen every game the kid has played the last three years and unless they can teach him coverage fundamentals, he'll be the second coming of Allen Rossum. Great returner, but far from first round material.

Word on the Cleveland boards is that the Browns were bidding against other teams to trade up for Winslow. No idea how true that is.

Nope. They didn't give up too much. Think about it, Cleveland handed them a gift in that #2. If they take Williams without trading down ONE PICK, then you don't get Jones and you have a 4 and a 5 (next year) Last year's 4 & 5 for the Lions: Pinner and Davis. OK, I left out Holt, but they had 2 #5's. So what you got there, an IR special and a special teamer. Not bad for a guy who could be the best back in D since Barry... Still, I wish they had taken Suggs last year instead of Pinner...

New coaching staff, same old crap. First, they pass up a chance to solidify the defensive front in favor of taking one of Michael Vick's friends...then they trade away multiple picks so that they can pass on a potential #1 receiver (Woods) for a guy who is a Brian Finneran clone. I don't seee how anyone can rate their early draft as anything but an F.

Jacksonville made out on the trade up for Jones. Sherman gave away thier second pick for only thier 3rd and 4th this year.

Jacksonville still has another 3rd rd pick.........

Basically the Packer gains a 4th round pick, nd don't get the guy i wanted them to get, guess Sherman didn't get my memo...

1) Jenkins is faster and has better hands than Finneran. 2) I think you're wrong on Hall. There was no dl player available that was equal to Hall.

And the Chargers make Eli Manning's point for him by taking a kicker in the third round. A team with massive holes everywhere takes a kicker at #65.

HAA HAA HAA! San Diego takes a kicker in 3??? HAA HAA HAA!!! Here's why I question the pick: Without an O-Line and recievers, they will only need a kicker about once a game: the opening kickoff. Now if he is also one hell of a punter...

So says the hype. Take a look at the reason VT collapsed last year...once teams learned that they could attack Hall, we got trounced. Just ask Pitt, UVA, BC & Cal. He has physical skills that are among the top 1% of players...but he has no fundamentals and is so cocky that he doesn't think he needs to learn them. Wasted pick.

Edit - When college fans are happy that a player has decided to go pro early, that says something.

You are not giving Hall nearly enough credit as a CB. He dominated every game I saw him play - including humiliating Larry Fitzgerald.

What game was that? In man coverage, Hall let Fitzgerald go for 100+ yards and a score last year.

I'm stunned Hartsock went so high. Also stunned it took three rounds to get Dockett drafted. Arizona got a steal there. He might be first round talent. Wonder what scared so many teams off.
