Hey Colts... you want to let us know when you plan on showing up today?

Yes, that shovel pass from earlier was sheer lunacy. I'm glad Cowher has let him play a bit today, instead of just their usual pound, pound, pound - I think Ben has tremendous ability as a passer.

Sucks for the offense...back to back penalties, but they only gain 3 yards after losing 5.

The Colts need this TD. If they have to settle for a fieldgoal, it is going to kill the momentum they have built.

That definitely hurt. I don't think they're out of it, but I now think it will need to be a dogfight until the final minute if the Colts are going to pull this out.

No, it's a matter of personal taste, as distaste would imply. I don't really care if Manning is clutch or not, I don't like his play style, and never did, going back to before the Colts were the juggernaut they are now. I found the constant audibling annoying as hell to watch and still do, even if it works for him.

That's sad, because that is someone playing the game as it should be played.

No, that was not pass interference for the exact same reason that last night was pass interference.

Both times the player that cut off the opposing player was deemed to have initiated the contact. Right call both times. Jackson was running downfield and Roethlisberger's throw was too far to the outside. So the receiver had to adjust his route to where he cut in front of Jackson.

Not pass interference unless you want to call a ticky tack offensive PI.

I wouldn't describe it as sad because I don't automatically like a player that you feel should be liked. And I don't know if rapid fire audibling is the "way the game should be played." If someone said the same thing about Brady or anyone else, I would say, well everyone has an opinion, even if I think it's wrong. You like watching TDBot 2000, I like QBs with some personality. To each his own.

Edit: for example, even though I'm a Pats fan, I enjoy watching Plummer because you never know what's going to happen.

Not sure if I posted this on the board yet, but it reminds me of when I went to a Vikings game, and some 10-12 year-old girl threw a pass for like 55 yards. Everyone cheered her like crazy, and she did some poses for the crowd and stuff. It was so fun.

That was a critical stop. If Indy had scored on that drive, they would've really had the momentum.

A quarterback should read defenses well enough to adjust the play at the line of scrimmage. That's the best case scenario of what you want a qb to do. Having someone make up a blown play is nice, but not blowing the play in the first place is always superior.

BTW, it is not that I feel he "should be liked," it is recognizing what the game is. You don't have to like Peyton. But to say you don't like him because he can read defenses well is a little sad.

I'm not arguing that it doesn't work, the results speak for themselves. I'm not arguing anything. I'm not saying he's not a good QB. I'm just saying I don't like watching him. I don't find it enjoyable. I do find watching the Steelers hound him enjoyable.

If Pittsburgh wins this game, which I think they will watching how they are playing right now, I think these playoffs become much more unpredictable and interesting.

First, and this will be the end of my side of this argument, I don't have any personal feelings about Manning one way or the other. So liking him has nothing to do with it. I do not like watching the constant audibling, hence watching him play. I don't care if it works or not, it's annoying to watch. Great, it works, he's awesome at changing plays, it's still annoying. It was annoying watching Brady do it in Denver last night.

For real. I have more respect for those guys. There have to be some guys playing QB in the NFL now that wouldn't last if they had to make all the decisions that a Staubach, Tarkenton, and Griese did.

Would it be more fun if the QB came to the line and, knowing the defense was about to stuff the called play, ran a bad play anyway without trying to adjust? I don't really see the fun in that.

Why is the announcer talking about the feet. It's where the ball is.

Is it like a TD, the ball looked like it broke the plane, even with forward motion?

There are a few qbs that call their own plays, and most qbs have the option to change the play if there's a need.

No. It is where you are down. A ball can go into and come out of an endzone, so just breaking the zone is not enough.
