Kinda late with this but I didn't see anyone else make this point...Albert only played guard because he was a better candidate to make the move than Monroe or the other OT whose name escapes me. I'm pretty sure he could've been a great LT for any big-time program.

Jackson is solid. Still kind of surprised though. He isn't very fast though which is a big concern.

Merling or Calais would have been better here if you go DE. Jackson is an awful pick at this point the Hawks. Way too much talent to disappear the way he did at times at USC.

There is a bust for you. Surprised you bring in Martz and have no good WR's on your roster, so you pass up on Thomas.

Agreed. Jackson is talented, but his production was poor considering how much attention Sedrick drew. I thought he would drop well into the 2nd round.

I could see GB trading down. Maybe take Flowers or Brohm if they stay.

Even more than that. Griffin is an absolute stud on the other side, and I think by the end of the season, the freshman Griffin was getting more double team coverage from opponents than Jackson (above and beyond Ellis, who of course, was always the first D-lien guy opponents gameplanned for).

I wonder what the record is for the most 1st round trades? Seems like a high number this year.

I don't get it. Why draft a 1st round QB? Get a decent vet reserve, and draft a guy like Booty in the 3rd or 4th round. Give Rodgers a chance before putting this much pressure on him.

Ah, Pack just traded down. Good move (and good guess by whoever said it here just now, and by Arles earlier today).

Balmer is more of a pure NT-type of guy, rather than a 4-3 tackle.

I think the Steelers were pretty high on him and would have been alright with taking him at 23 (from what I have read).

To be honest, I'd be fine with any of these. I really like Cason, so I wouldn't mind them trading down 4-5 spots and still landing him. I also like Reggie Smith, who should be there when their cleveland pick comes up. For the first time in a while, we don't *NEED* a starter at any spot, so Ted should go BPA or trade down.
Nice to get one right

GB moves down 6 spots and gets an early 4th for their troubles. Solid move.

I can't remember the last time there wasn't a WR picked in the first round. Unless the G-men take one, that is.

Will they use him, though? I hate to say it, but I hear "TE" and "Jets" and I flash back to Kyle Uselss Brady. I didn't think there were any TEs in this draft worth a first round pick.

My objection to Keller is really more about value than his quality as a player or an athlete. He does seem to be a freakish talent. But like interior linemen, you generally have to be pretty damn good across the board to be a TE and get drafted in the first round, and I didn't hear any of the experts say anyone here was on the level of a Shockey or Davis or even Marcedes Lewis.

Me too my friend, me too. But this guy is a beast. I think they'd love to have a real threat at TE for Clemens or Pennington to throw to.

Chris Baker is bitching about his contract, so he's gone.

A good TE is somehting the Jets will need with shorter-armed QBs, assuming they stick that way. In that way, Keller is a good pick. But I thought they were looking to get longer in the passing game, maybe starting with picking a Brohm or a Henne or Booty. Of course, they have had a couple opportunities so far and haven't done that.
