The first round of the EP Spanish Open is complete, and stats are up. My +8 has me tied for 95th. Looks like I've got some work to do.

I'm +2 after 5 in the Panama Masters. That in itself is about how my bad self has been playing so far but how I got to that score is interesting:
bogey
birdie
double bogey
birdie
bogey

wow, what's a par again?

and again, what is a par???

Holes 6 to 8 went like this:
bogey
bogey
birdie

Now at +3 after 8 holes, another crappy round...

I bogeyed 5 or 6 in a row on the second nine, now +8 after 15 and I'm starting to positively hate this game. One would never believe that I'm really trying to do well here, seriously.

Well, a very encouraging +2 for round two at the Quatar. Very easily could've been an even round if not for a double on the 18th. Now, in preparation for this round, I drastically changed some of my tactics and I'd love to know if they are the reason I did better or was it just dumb luck?? Argh...friggin' golf!!!

+11 currently at the EP Spanish. This could be right around the cut-line.

Edit: +12 now.

Here is a message I got in round 2 of the Panama:
****************************************************
***Round:2 Hole: 3 Par: 4
There is no information available for this hole
****************************************************

I wonder if it helps or hinders my score

Even though I am having a better second round so far, not making the cut as far as I can see, lol. But what a weird result, huh??

A +4 today was nice, but a total of +13 means I am sent home for the weekend. I suppose my first tournament should see me near the bottom of the scoreboard.

I improved by 6 strokes today, and am sitting at +12. It's POSSIBLE I could make the cut, which would be my first one. Doesn't look too likely right now.

I didn't change a single thing and improved from +9 to +2 as well.

It looks like the cut is going to be even par, so my +11 is going to come up just a little short.

just teed off, had a par on 1, then the crapper again. Look at this putting:
Quote:
Round:2 Hole: 2 Par: 3
Shot 1: Approach - Missed Green Back To Pin: 22Yards - In the Long Fringe
Shot 2: Chip Shot - On the green To Pin: 5Feet - On the Green
Shot 3: Putt - Missed Putt To Pin: 6Feet - On the Green
Shot 4: Putt - Holed Putt To Pin: In the Hole

you mean I putted backward???

Either that, or I was bad enough that 5 feet out, I putted 11 feet away. That's one hell of a downward slope if you ask me... They shouldn't only say "missed putt", they should add some extra comment like "REALLY missed putt"...

Maybe you had one of those putts that lipped-out and picked up speed going around the lip? Either that or this is a US Open green and the ball rolled back down the hill toward you.

I don't believe that's terribly unusual in real life.

maybe so, but I seem to do it about 3 times per round. That is, from 7 to 15 feet away from the hole, I end up at between 5 to 7 feet from it... Had one from 13 that ended 7 feet away from the hole...

Anyway, playing a great even par after 9 hole on day two, back to +7 on the tourney. Based on a +5 score in 70th place after one round, I'd say the cut should happen anywhere between +8 and +11. Plenty of time to screw my round real good and end up at +13 or worse though...

sure enough, I click on "My Rounds" to see if a new hole has been played and here's what's up:
Quote:
Round:2 Hole: 10 Par: 4
Shot 1: Tee Shot - Miss Fairway Right To Pin: 178Yards - In the Bunker
Shot 2: Approach - Missed Green Left To Pin: 18Yards - In the Rough
Shot 3: Chip Shot - On the green To Pin: 8Feet - On the Green
Shot 4: Putt - Missed Putt To Pin: 7Feet - On the Green
Shot 5: Putt - Holed Putt To Pin: In the Hole

and ayup, just as I said, I have destroyed my round in four consecutive holes. Bogey 5 on 10th, 11th, 12th, and a double bogey 6 on 13th hole. Way to go dude!!! Now at +12 on the tourney...

I had the same FrogMan, doing to about to finish +6 of +7 end up at +10.

I had a good overall 2nd day of +2, but sheesh a double bogey tends to kill ya.

had a second round of 9 bogeys, for a second +7 in a row, +14 on the tournament. I'm obviously doing something wrong somewhere because I would expect to have seen some sort of improvement, bleh

I changed tactics between rounds, I examined each whole for round one and then made minor adjustments.

Same tactics from round 1 to round two.

+6 round one, I'm sitting at +9 after 36 holes despite finding water on 18 and still getting par on the hole. We'll see about the cut...

If you are the worst golfer of mankind, what designation does that leave for vex, bbor, dervack, and jhandley?

err, okay, WE ARE THE WORST GOLFERS OF MANKIND!!!!

honestly, I feel worst since I started training a week ahead of you all, never had an injury, which I know bbor had for some 16 days or so, yet I still can't make a frigging cut...

This will all change next week. I'm entered in a EuroPro event, one of the easy ones

My practice rounds were pretty ugly as well. I think I bogeyed (or worse) the first 5 holes.

Hey guys, do not do not do not let the tournament begin before setting your tactics. I never got around to setting tactics before Thursday because of a crazy work schedule last week, shot an 82. Yes, 82, tied for worst 1st round. Then I did set tactics for round two Thursday night, shot a 70, for my first under-par round ever. A frikkin 12 stroke swing! Missed the cut by two strokes, so now I'm wondering if I should quit my job because it's keeping me from succeeding at online free golf...

Is there any PC or Ps2 game like this? i can't wait one day per round lol, need to play golf games for hors now that i'm addicted. I guess my only option is to reinstall Tiger Woods 2006 in my PC and wait for Gary's new golf text sim.

you should sign up for albatross18 and play golf rounds with FOFCers

see this thread:
http://www.operationsports.com/fofc/...ad.php?t=50061

This game here, combined with albatross, got me addicted to playing video golf, since I can't afford playing real golf (timewise and moneywise). Coincidence, my sister gave me Mario Golf for the gamecube on Father's day and I went and got TW2006 also for the gamecube and it's been a blast going from one game to the other

Sadly, I just got myself addicted to FM again, so golf playing is a bit on the backburner. Can't wait for Gary's game though, very intriguing concept...
