Where I-10 goes over the Lake spillway is right nearby me, if it was that I would have to hang my head in shame. (Random trivia 4 of the 5 longest bridges in America are in Louisiana, that is one of them.)

a dam or barrage of some kind? Unless that's a turntable bridge in the bottom center, it doesn't look like it's a connected road or tunnel. that thing almost looks like a sluice to let a limited amount of water in/out of the harbor

Maybe now is a good time to discuss this some more while people aren't distracted by the pictures.

I like the idea a ton. Some folks are just able to be refreshing the forum more often, so you're seeing a cycle of 5-6 guys getting all of the answers.

I'd say we try it without hints, but all-out google searching is allowed. That you can be obscure, but there has to be some uniquely identifiable landmark. For instance, you wouldn't do Richneck Rd. in Newport News, VA but you could do say the Masonic Temple in Arlington, VA (which is relatively obscure to non-locals, but has a destinguishable Masonic Logo outside of it on the hill leading to it).

So, flesh out rules:

1. Poster posts 10 google map images.
2. They will be from locations with identifiable landmarks. They can be somewhat obscure, but not to the point that there is no identifiable landmark. Variety is encouraged.
3. Contestants have 24 hours to submit their guesses.
4. Posters may use all available resources to identify the location.
5. Each image is worth 100 points. Points will be awarded based on 100/(Correct Entries). For instance, we have 10 contestants. All 10 get image A correct, they each get 10 points. Only 5 get image B right, each of those 5 get 20 points.
6. The winner gets to post the next entry. In the case of a 2-way tie, they each get to post 5 images. In the case of more than 2 tieing, the first two entries get to submit 5 images.

I guess my issue with the "10 per day" rule is that one person gets to monopolize the whole day so no one else gets to come up with any.

I might be able to pick off a lucky one or two from Quik or KWhit or MJ4H or some of the others who have done a bunch of these but there's no way I'm winning a whole day

I didn't quote the post where I said this yesterday, and I think it got lost in the shuffle of actually images.

I think we treat these as two separate threads. The real-time game, and the 10-per game. The real-time game would be not as difficult as the 10-per and have a different feel.
