MP - A little help please

After moving computers the logs and boxes numerically for weeks 1 & 2 dont line up. Now I have the week's boxes and logs saved seperately and someone suggested renaming them to the missing numbers BUT there are no missing numbers. while if you open them up it jumps from exhibition week 4 to week 3 (all the stats are complete and accurate) HOWever there isn't a gap that I can plug weeks 1 & 2 into regarding the file names. Any suggestions?

When you switch computers you've got to make sure to copy the *.fgr file over so the boxes and logs numbers stay in tact. I swear we've talked about this before somewhere.

yes, but you have more confidence in your sweet computer skills. You say all of that stuff (you and others) like I know that Im not going to ruin the league. Let me let you peak into my brain when I read some of this stuff, "What? Where is that? I'm totally going to fuck this up. Its not worth it. If I cant guarantee that I wont fuck it up, I have to go with the most guaranteed way of doing it."

So now you know....now, I will talk to the NAFL about how they fixed their's and hopefully it'll make sense to me.

You're fucked. There is no fix.

Hey, no one has any problems with you asking questions around here. I'll always answer them if I think I can help. But you've got to listen. I mentioned in that thread that you've got to carry over your *.fgr file. Honestly, if you don't know what the *.fgr file is at this point (18 months), then you probably shouldn't be running a league.

Well, I had a suspicion that there was a file that kept track of the numbering, but I must have missed the discussion before as well. I was switching computers so I didn't have access to the main leagues/universe folder. I foolishly thought that as long as I had all the box scores/logs in there along with the primary league files, it would be just fine. But, of course, I was wrong.

So instead of worrying about what it might due to the numbering in the future and any further problems it could cause, I did what I didn't really want to do and that was to back the season up a couple of days. I got my old leagues folder back online, and now I'll run the sim from that.

If you don't care about viewing old box scores and stuff, I think the actual damage is probably minimal. If you want to keep everything in order, there's not really another option that I know of than to go to a back-up, making sure you have that file sov mentioned.

nope...rolling back is not an option. We will have 2 boxscores and logs that can only be viewed externally. All of the stats seem to be fine and get added into the game so "oh well"

With my office league, I back up the leagues, universe, and import directories before running each sim. When switching computers, I did the same after the last sim and moved that zip file. Worked like a champ.

I have always done this as well. My problem stemmed from the fact that I had the back-up on a hard drive that I couldn't access and didn't want to delay the season until I got my comp. back up. In the future, I may begin uploading a back-up to the server after each sim as well.

This is good advice, though. One thing I've learned is to back-up often and repeatedly.
