Yes. He was an A-Hole. Writing his name on the wall was enough for me to move. A well-below-average experience.

There are currently far too may spurious claims for me to take ghosts seriously, but I'd be interesting in a fresh look by academia. If we could prove the existence of ghosts, then that might suggest some kind of afterlife. Of course, the afterlife it suggests might be scarier than simple oblivion.

Until one finds solid evidence gathered through a formal, humble study, scientific or otherwise, one has no basis for belief. And a brief "sighting" of a ghost is not solid proof in my opinion- one should not underestimate the power of the mind. Now, if a sighting can be reproduced consistently, we'd be on to something...

The following choice is irrational:

"I’d like to think so"

What does it matter what one likes? PErsonally, I'd like to think that dragons exist, but that doesn't make them more likely...

It's a figure of speech, indicating that there's some suggestion something is possible but not enough to be completely sure.

By the way, I'd still like to hear from the others who said "Absolutely." Where are your stories?

11% of people have absolutely seen ghosts. Wow! We must have an unusually sensitive crowd...

I watched a few of those shows about ghosts this weekend, and I'll be honest, I got pretty freaked out by it. I think it's more of my imagination, but it's still fun to imagine if there were ghosts.

Yeah, I saw one ghost show where these guys went up into the attic to try and take a picture of this thing...and the next thing that happens is this one guy is coming back shaking like a leaf and white as the proverbial sheet. Apparently, something had grabbed him and hooked him onto a roof beam. Say what you will, but the guy was really freaked.

I'm pretty convinced that ghosts do exist. But I want more stories from the FOFC masses!

Ghosts, werewolfs, aliens are just programs not working according to the matrix.

I saw a show where some guy had a doll type thing that he called Robert. He always talked to it as a child and apparently his parents noticed etc.

He ended up keeping the doll Robert with him at all times, and whenever he wuld get mad or break something he would blame the doll. When he got married his wife made him put "Robert" in the attic because he was creeping her out. The guy didn't like this, and started to become almost schizophrenic and had extreme bouts of anger. He always blamed it on the doll. I did not see the absolute end so it's kind of a cliff-hanger. Maybe I'll see if they have the case online somewhere.

Interesting story.

What the heck does it have to do with ghosts?

It was more or less some sort of being from beyond, similiar to a ghost. So although it wasn't a prototypical hazy figure walking around, it still is similiar

I didn't navigate to the link, but from your description, it sounds like mental illness...

Sorry guys, just trying to add something. However if you read the link, kids reported seeing the doll walking around in the attic of the house and hearing an "evil giggle" coming from the attic. This part has nothing to do with the person, just the doll.

Dug this thread up for old timey sake. I'd still like to hear those "absolutely" stories.

I gave you mine, and I also responded to the poll.....

Check out a book titled Haunted Heartlands....It's pretty interesting read...although I don't think a lot of the stories are true, it provides interesting insight into a lot of what is being reported as ghost
