"Let's Smurf!"

Paramount Pictures has acquired the rights to do a 3D-animated "Smurfs" movie. Jordan Kerner and Nickelodeon Movies will produce the film, and Herb Ratner will pen the screenplay.

The deal calls for the production of three "Smurfs" films as part of a trilogy. The first film is aimed for a 2008 release in order to simaltaneously celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Smurfs.

They're planning a trilogy already???

I don't remember much about watching the show when I was younger, but I do remember watching. I also remember not liking it when they changed the show to involve some time crystals or something? I have no idea why that memory is with me...

The show started going downhill when they had the baby smurf and the teenage smurfs.

They'd better damn well be three apples high.

Seriously this whole trilogy fad has to die. How 'bout they focus on making on decent movie instead of 3 crappy ones (or 1 good, 2 crappy). Then again, these are the same folks who think 3D smurfs would make a good feature film.

What are you talking about? I've never dropped acid before, but this just might be the killer app that could get me started!

I guess there are a bunch of (edit - never mind) guys out there who would probably get real excited about a 3D Smurfette as well.

My guess is episode two will end with the world descending to darkness and Gargamel's reign over the world all but assured.

At this time? Not really. But the promotion wheels will start turning, and kids will want to see it.

There's a whole generation of guys out there for whom their first introduction to porn literature was writing about all the smurfy things they would do to smurf Smurfette.

Smurfette had black hair before she was a blonde. She annoyed me, but not as much as Painter Smurf. His French accent was horrendous.

My favorite smurf was Jokey Smurf and his insane laugh. *ey he he he he*

That was back when she was evil. People forget that Smurfette was created by Gargamel...
