I'm rich.

I get a penny raise in October.

Well we're movin on up,
To the east side.
To a deluxe apartment in the sky.
Movin on up,
To the east side.
We finally got a piece of the pie.

Fish don't fry in the kitchen;
Beans don't burn on the grill.
Took a whole lotta tryin',
Just to get up that hill.
Now we're up in the big leagues,
Gettin' our turn at bat.
As long as we live, it's you and me baby,
There ain't nothin wrong with that.

Well we're movin on up,
To the east side.
To a deluxe apartment in the sky.
Movin on up,
To the east side.
We finally got a piece of the pie.

A penny raise? I'd have told them they can take that penny every hour, for 8 hours a day and ...... shove it.

A penny saved is a penny earned.

In a couple of hours, you can give them your two cents.

Methinks this is a penny per mile, which for an over the road trucker is actually a nice thing.

That's about twenty bucks per year. With any luck it will move you into a new tax bracket and you will see less of your paycheck than you did before.

You seem to be under the mistaken impression that his raise is a penny per hour, as opposed to, y'know, just a penny.

correct.

It's not huge, but nothing to write off either. They went 3-4 years with no raises to the pay scale (most companies have a scale depending on experience/ time with company, usually anyone over 3 years is pretty much at the top of the scale). Last year they increased it half a cent, that one was kind of funny to me.

Anyways, if we get the 'target' miles for a week, then it is about $50 extra a week. And they said our health insurance should be going down, after it has gone up every year for the last 6 years. Every little bit helps.
