Thumbs up Mind of Mencia

I saw Mind of Mencia on Comedy Central last nite and Im impressed. I like his humor and I think it's pretty fresh and original. For those that dont know Mencia is a Mexican American comedian who pokes fun at social and racial issues in tHe U.S.

So is (was) Paul Rodriguez.

Seriously, the commercials looked OK, but like Stella, I wasn't really moved to actually watch it. South Park, Reno 911, and baseball. That's my summer lineup.

Actually he's half Guatemalan- and half German- American. I only know because there was an interesting article in the Times about the show, basically talking about how Comedy Central wouldn't let him do any kind of sketches because "that's Chappelle's show."

My bad! From watching the show he gave off that '' Im Mexican'' living in LA attitude.

Yeah, I think that was the Times pointed it out, since I guess he does that.

Can't really blame him though, as I'd think Mexicans are a deeper source of humor than Guatemalans as far as stereotypes go.

I didn't like the commercials too much either, but the show was really, really funny, IMO. If he can be this good consistently, then Chappelle better hurry back or risk becoming less relevant.

Didn't even know he had a show until I was flipping channels last nite. Very funny show.

i cant ever remember being offended by comedy, but his show offended me. i feel old or something. somehow, theres a difference to me between the way reno 911 handles racism, and mencia's rant on all arabs are terrorists.
