ESPN Gameplan

Does anyone know where I can find a listing of the games that will be seen on ESPN Gameplan this year and how much it costs? The new roomie is signing us up for it. I can't find any information on it.

It is $99 for the season. They usually don't release the schedule until much closer to the football season as the games depend on the matchups for the week and the games you can receive in your area.

They announce games about 10 days before they air, due to conference television contracts. You can probably find last year's gameplan schedule. So far this year, ABC has announced its games for the weekend of September 3 and September 10.

In general, here is what will be on Gameplan each week:

All ABC regional games--one ACC game, one Big 10 game, one Big 12 game and one Pac-10 game.
All ESPN Plus games--usually an extra Big 10 noon game or Big East games.
The Jefferson Pilot regional games--SEC and ACC games.
Other games picked up on local or smaller affiliates--ACC or SEC non-conference games against smaller schools, WAC or MWC games, maybe MAC games.
The ABC late game--a west coast game usually airing at 7:00 eastern and usually only available on the west coast--usually a WAC game.

You will not typically get the Fox Sports Net games.

I was just looking up stuff about Gameplan and I noticed that they have streaming video broadcasts available now. Apparently they had it last year, too. Anybody check that out? I'm curious about the quality.

I used it a couple of times to get WVU games. It was well worth it to me.

How was the quality? Most streaming stuff I've seen is pretty fuzzy looking and cuts in and out, but I also haven't really watched any streaming stuff in a long time so I imagine it's a lot better now.

I'd say the quality was adequate. I don't have a cutting edge computer or great monitor, but it didn't stand out as being bad to me. When I made it full screen, it wasn't real good.

The feed was consistent without any breakups (that I noticed), so that was good.

I didn't regret spending the money.

Used the streaming video for the opening round of the ACC tournament in March when my cable provider (Comcast) decided to be a bunch of asshats, ignoring what was plainly written on the ESPN site that I could purchase single-day passes and saying I needed to buy a half-season pass to see the games. I gladly gave ESPN my 14.95 that day. Haven't regretted it and also got to tune into several other games when the ACC games went to break.

Any Idea where I can subscribe to get Patriot and/or Ivy League games?

I think the Ivy League has a game of the week deal with the Yes network. I don't know about the Patriot League. I think Yes is available through the regular DirecTV sports package (where you get ESPNU and all of the regional Fox Sports Nets).

I used the online package one week for the Oklahoma-Kansas State game last year while I was living in Chicago. Basically like mlb.tv, if you've ever used that before. I would probably opt for the TV before I paid the online just because I don't really like to sit at my computer, but since that was all that was availible to me, it was a good deal.
