FM 2005 Question

Known bug or not?

I resigned from Middlesbrough in June of 2013. The only slightly extraordinary circumstance was that I finalized a transfer right before I resigned (wanted to help the club). Turns out that's not allowed and the transfer was canceled when I resigned later that day.

Anyway, the possible bug is that it's now February of 2015 and they still don't have a manager. They've since lost their assistant manager and, as far as I can tell, they haven't signed a soul. Their roster is down to the players I had signed to long term contracts. I tried applying for the job and got the standard message that they'll let me know. I did that sometime in the summer of 2014 after seeing them go a whole season without a manager.

The option to apply is now gone but they haven't hired anyone. I'm advancing quickly as I resigned in order to wait on and accept the USA manager position. So with only international responsibilities, the game is advancing rapidly.

Anyone know anything about this?

edit - Almost forgot a key piece of information. The opening does not appear on the "Job Centre" screen in the game. Even when the Apply for Job option was available, it wasn't shown as an available job.

I don't know if it's a known bug, but the same thing happened in my Luton/QPR career. I had started with Luton and got sacked in the middle of my 4th season. They took some two seasons before hiring a new manager, by which time the team was depleted of any talent and had relegated from League One to League Two. The team was then so bad, the new manager was unable to do anything with it and they further relegated from League Two to teh Conferences...

So, it's not just a one time thing...

I think the bug is that a team that has gained promtion will not hire a new manager until it goes back to the level that the team was at when you took over. I may not be phrasing it correctly but you can search the forum over at SI and probably find several listings.
