Exchange XP Pro (32-bit) for XP Pro x64

So.... I went to the Microsoft web site to upgrade my XP Pro to their 64 bit version.
After hopping through the various hoops, I get to the order information screen.

All of a sudden it is asking for a credit card and stating
"Credit Card will not be charged until product ships."

It does not say how much this charge is or what it is for.
Going back through all of the screens, I can not find a charge amount any place.
Up until this point, I thought it was free.

Has anyone used this offer?
Does anyone know how much they are charging?
Is it clearly stated some where and I'm just spacing it out?

I just checked it out, and I can't find any sign of if it costs anything or how much it costs. They imply that it is free, but there is some confusing language. Very peculiar. I'm also unhappy to hear that it requires a hard drive wipe (but not surprised.) I want to upgrade to the XP Media Center 64 once it is out for a longer period of time and more stable, but I don't want to have to re-install all of my programs.

The old 32 bit version is will be no longer a valid (legal) copy of windows.
I assumed the hard drive wipe was to get rid of it.
