NBA Teams to Play Against Top European Clubs
Lots of NBA posts today...
hxxp://sports.iwon.com/news/06142005/v4639.html AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) - Four NBA teams will play preseason games against top European clubs in 2006 and 2007, the league was scheduled to announce Tuesday night before Game 3 of the Finals between San Antonio and Detroit. The NBA teams, to be determined later, will play and hold training camps in five European countries as part of the NBA Europe Live presented by EA Sports. "This is the NBA's most ambitious European basketball competition," NBA commissioner David Stern said in a statement. "NBA Europe Live will exemplify how sports leagues around the world can work together for the long-term growth of their sport." The NBA's last visit to Europe was in 2003 for the NBA Europe Games, which featured a preseason game between the San Antonio Spurs and the Memphis Grizzlies, at Bercy Arena in Paris. The league also announced that EA Sports has expanded its relationship with the NBA to become an official global marketing partner. |

Hopefully the European clubs can show the NBA how to play real team basketball.

Considering that the Euro teams will likely approach this like the most important games their clubs will ever play, and the NBA teams won't play anyone likely to make the final roster for more than 10 minutes, I think the best Euro teams should win easily - although it will be difficult for them to adjust to NBA rules and refs.

I am going to guess the four teams will be San Antonio, Phoenix, Dallas and Detroit, four of the most team-oriented clubs in the NBA. But I get what you are saying |

I agree, but Phoenix and Dallas are really the only clubs who score, pass and have a flow. San Antonio and Detroit are defensive-minded clubs. |

San Antonio and Detroit still play great team offense, it's just that people as much as they talk about wanting to see team ball, have become so accustomed to 1-1 situations, these teams look dull and boring. I know I really enjoy watching these two teams play - at both ends.
