Oakland vs Alabama A&M

I am only watching this game because I grew up in Oakland County. Oakland has only been D1 for a handful of years.

Oakland is really playing pretty well, shooting 60% or so. They are up 31-26 at this point.

Not a terrible game so far. The pace at which AAMU plays is fun to watch. It's tournament time, baby!!

43-37 with 16:37 to go.

Alabama A&M has 2 guys with 3 fouls each and is shooting 33%.

Yup.

12-18 Oakland wins the play in game. I just glanced at the line in the paper today but I thought Oakland was the favorite by several points. Certainly could be wrong about it though.

Wannamakeabet.com had Oakland as 6.5 point favorites. So the line had to be close to theirs.

Didn't Oakland play the toughest non-conference slate in the nation this year?

I doubt it, it doesnt look too tough. And they only played 2 top 25 teams all season (Illinois and Michigan State.)

Not sure what Oaklands non-conference rank was but they finished 200th in CBS's RPI rankings. They also finished 186th in Sagarin's ratings on USA Today.

the question now is: who can possibly stop Oakland?

ESPN said their 22 gazillion to 1 to win the tournament. Where can I get these odds?

Good to see Oakland get through. They have tried hard over the last couple years to put a solid team together, and have built a very nice (also very small) new arena, but have had a lot of trouble getting anybody around here to pay attention to them. Hopefully, this will change that.
