NCAA Bracket Contest
Last year we ran an office pool for the NCAA bracket where picking upsets correctly got you bonus points. Basically, it works like this:
Each team will give you points based on there seeding. So if you pick a 1 seed to win in the first round you'll get 1 point, A 2 gets you 2 points, a 3 - 3 points, etc. Then it works like a standard bracket where you get a multiplier for each additional round. So in the first round - no bonus, second round take the seed and multiply by 2, 3rd round by 3, 4th by 4, etc. I can adjust the round bonuses easily enough if you would prefer more for later round matchups. Anyway - this bracket works differently then most out there, and I tought I would offer it to do it for the board if anyone is interested in participating. Last year we had a guy at the office with 3 of the final 4 teams correct, but he still finished out of the money - so the point totals do make a big difference. I have also posted this on the Dynasty Board - so if you sign up here then don't worry about the other (in case you're wondering - the play-in game doesn't count ) |

Leapy Dog has one of the best Tournament Pool software out there and is fairly cheap (I think $10). I highly recommend running a pool on its software.
Read the Features of the game as well.

These pools are becoming increasingly popular, it seems -- I have been playing in such a pool (same weighting) for six or eight years, and have won it a couple of times.
Getting the 8/9 and 7/10 games correct in the first round is HUGE. |

If you want to play, just PM me your selections and I'll enter you in the contest.
That's assuming we get enough people signed up to make setting up the spreadsheet worthwile. |

I run a pool similar every year...seed in the first round, but then its 5 points plus seed in 2nd, 10 points plus seed in 3rd, etc. They are fun.
