As a midwestern Lutheren, there really shouldn't be any surprise that this is #1 or that the Catholic church is close behind. Coupled with my personal social beliefs, the Liberal protestant would be next. I had my wife do it, and her's were more similar than different, but it also showed her variety, as she has been in many different churches and her beliefs reflected that.

I was born and raised Catholic, still go to a Catholic church, but this places Roman Catholocism right about where I figured it would for me. But I think it is funny that I also scored so high on Islam and Judaism. Maybe I should become a Middle East peace envoy.

As if I needed any proof, I am not a Taoist. Howver, the top three are to be expected, as I am a christian conservative and my family was mormon in the past.

Wow, soo off. I am far from sharing the views of the jews, and my religion, which i strongly agree with, is 16th on this list(christian science). Me not answering a few questions might have led it this way, but right now i need to convert to Judaism or islam.

Those of you who are getting "Quaker" shouldn't be so surprised. True Quakers, though not a significantly large proportion of the population, are one of the least understood groups in the list. Contrary to popular opinion, Quakers are not the same thing as Amish, and there are relatively few things doctrinally that separate Quakers from typical Protestants (though, am I mistaken? Or are Quakers typically pacifist?). Anyways, I've taken these tests before and laughed to see how high "Quaker" was on my list also.

The rankings are hilarious, as you could hold an absolutely contrarian viewpoints about important topics (i.e. existence of God, nature of God, nature of truth), but if you agree on minor issues (pacifism, church polity, evolution, etc.) you can get lumped together with religions you couldn't disagree with more on important topics.

Actually, that's not entirely true. For instance, I ended up as Conservative Protestant. I agree strongly with the major theology precepts but disagree with many of the things that I consider "window dressing" like their stances on abortion, homosexuality, etc. However, since I put those as low priority and the theology points as high priority, I ended up where I did.

So if you don't adjust the importance meters, sure, you'll probably end up somewhere different. And to any Protestant who really holds the religious beliefs on homosexuality in as high regard as, say, beliefs in the afterlife then I think you're really missing the point.

That said, this is by no means a perfect poll. Just a fun little time waster. I'm pretty sure you can't boil down all major religious beliefs into a game of 20 questions much less the minor ones which distinguish some of the more similar belief systems from others.
