Shocking Lose
Young Griffo loses in a 3rd round TKO to "Philadelphia" Tommy Ryan (no relation to the welterweight champ). Griffo had already signed on to face Joe Gans for his title, and this was supposed to be a warm up. This result has got ot give Griffo some doubt and Gans more confidence for their upcoming title fight.

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is our main event, scheduled for 15 rounds.

Introducing first, in the blue corner, his official weight 210 pounds and he has an undefeated career record with 5 wins, all coming by way of knock out. He is [/i]JAMES J. JEFFERIES! JEFFERIES![/i]

His opponent, in the red corner, his official weight came in at 190 pounds, and his career record stands at 2 wins and 1 lose, he is GUS RUHLIN! RUHLIN!

Ding.....Ding.....Ding

Round 1: A VERY uneventful first round. (Round Even, 0-0 Even)

Round 2: Jefferies opened up and dominated the beginning of the round, but Ruhlin fought back and made it a very close round. (Round to Jefferies, 1-0 Jefferies)

Round 3: Ruhlin is dropped fast. He gets up but takes a beating for the rest of the round. (Round to Jefferies, 2-0 Jefferies)

Round 4: Jefferies started off good, but Ruhlin fights back, and in the last 30 seconds, Ruhlin was bouncing shot and shot off of Jefferies. (Round to Ruhlin, 2-1 Jefferies)

Round 5: Jefferies wins this one by not letting Ruhlin come back as he's done in most other rounds. Jeffereies remained in control of this round all the way through. (Round to Jefferies, 3-1 Jefferies)

Round 6: First Jefferies lands a few, then Ruhlin takes over and starts to dominate the round. But then Jefferies comes back and finishes the round very strong. (Round Even, 3-1 Jefferies)

Round 7: Much like the 6th round, Jefferies starts off good, Ruhlin counters but then Jefferies finishes strong to even up the round. (Round Even, 3-1 Jefferies)

Round 8: Jefferies drops Ruhlin for the second time. Ruhlin barely beats the count and suffered a gash under his left eye. Jefferies pounded on Ruhlin until the referee jumped in to stop the beating.

The referee stops the fight at 2:49 of the 8th round, the winner of the fight by technical knockout...JAMES J. JEFFERIES!

Ladies and Gentlemen, the following is the main event. Scheduled for 15 rounds, it is for the World Lightweight Championship!

Introducing first, the challenger, in the red corner. He officially weighed in at 129 pounds and has a career record of 56 wins, 4 defeats and 15 draws, with 27 wins coming by way of knock out. He is the former Featherweight Champion of the World and the former Lightweight Champion of the world...YOUNG GRIFFO! GRIFFO!

His opponent in the blue corner, his official weight is 132 pounds. His undefeated record stands at 25 wins and 2 draws with 21 wins coming by way of knock out. He is the undefeated, undesputed, Lightweight Champion of World....JOE GANS! GANS!

Ding.....Ding.....Ding

Round 1: They exchange for a bit, but then Gans takes over and starts punishing Griffo badly. (Round to Gans, 1-0 Gans)

Round 2: A close round. Gans lands a few early, but Griffo comes back and steals the round with a late flurry that stuns Gans. (Round to Griffo, 1-1 Even)

Round 3: Gans opens a cut under Griffo's right eye as he completely dominates this round and pounds away on Griffo. (Round to Gans, 2-1 Gans)

Round 4: A very close round with Griffo just getting the edge. It was a back and forth battle until the end where Griffo pulls ahead with a shot that caused Gans to back up. (Round to Griffo, 2-2 Even)

Round 5: An exciting, close round. Griffo starts off strong, but Gans battles back and dominates most of the round until Griffo comes back in the end of the round. Gans did a bit more overall. (Round to Gans, 3-2 Gans)

Round 6: Gans dominates the round easily. Griffo couldn't get anything done and Gans just landed at will. (Round to Gans, 4-2 Gans)

Round 7: Griffo starts the round off strong and dominates, but Gans quickly turns it around and starts pounding on Griffo. A close round but Griffo barely does enough to win the round. (Round to Griffo, 4-3 Gans)

Round 8: Gans starts off strong, but Griffo takes control and completely dominates in the closing minute and has Gans staggering as the round ended. (Round to Griffo, 4-4 Even)

Round 9: The round starts off slow with Gans landing a few more than Griffo, but then Gans takes full control in the last minute. (Round to Gans, 5-4 Gans)

Round 10: Griffo tries to go on the offensive, but Gans avoids it and effectively counters Griffo's attack. (Round to Gans, 6-4 Gans)

Round 11: Griffo is tired now and Gans is taking full advantage as he pounded on Griffo this round. Several times Griffo almost went down. (Round to Gans, 7-4 Gans)

Round 12: Gans has taken full control of this fight. Another round of Gans dominating Griffo. (Round to Gans, 8-4 Gans)

Round 13: A very slow round with very little action at all. (Round Even, 8-4 Gans)

Round 14: Griffo was dropped midway through the round and got upon the count of 6. By the end of the round, Griffo's right eye looked terrible and he is very tired. (Round to Gans, 9-4 Gans)

Round 15: Griffo was down again. He got up and finished the round, but he looks very beat up. This should be an easy decision for Gans. (Round to Gans, 10-4 Gans)

After 15 rounds of action, we go to the referee's score card. He has the bout scored 9 rounds to 4, for the winner....and STILL UNDISPUTED LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD....JOE GANS!!

Ladies and gentlemen, this is our main even and it is for the Featherweight Championship of the world!

Introducing first, out of the red corner, he has a career record of 31 wins, 2 loses with 4 draws with 18 wins by way of knock out. His official weight is at 120 pounds. SOLLY SMITH! SMITH!

And his opponent, fighting out of the blue corner, his career record stands at 23 wins, 3 defeats and 6 draws with 16 wins coming by way of knockout. He weighs in at 120 pounds, he is the UNDISPUTED FEATHERWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD.....GEORGE "LITTLE CHOCOALTE" DIXON! DIXON!

Ding.....Ding.....Ding

Round 1: Dixon starts the bout off strong and easily outpoints Smith. (Round to Dixon, 1-0 Dixon)

Round 2: The round starts off slow but builds up a bit. It stays even throughout until the end when Dixon lays into Smith, hurting him. (Round to Dixon, 2-0 Dixon)

Round 3: Another round where Dixon does just more than Smith. He's outpointing him to the point and Smith needs to adjust his thinking if we wants to win this one. (Round to Dixon, 3-0 Dixon)

Round 4: The pace picks up as Smith opens up more and starts landing some nice punches. He had Dixon hurt for most of the last minute. (Round to Smith, 3-1 Dixon)

Round 5: Smith starts off strong, but Dixon works his way back and takes the round. (Round to Dixon, 4-1 Dixon)

Round 6: Another quick paced round. Dixon clearly took this one as well, but Smith is landing some shots as well. It only takes one to put Dixon down. (Round to Dixon, 5-1 Dixon)

Round 7: Dixon completely dominates this round. Smith couldn't do anything. (Round to Dixon, 6-1 Dixon)

Round 8: A quick paced, even round with Smith barely getting the upper hand. (Round to Smith, 6-2 Dixon)

Round 9: A VERY slow round with hardly any action at all. (Round Even, 6-2 Dixon)

Round 10: Smith seems to have gotten his second wind as he takes this round easily. (Round to Smith, 6-3 Dixon)

Round 11: Down goes Dixon! Smith landed a devastating hook that sent Dixon to the canvas. He regains his feet and finishes the round, but he is hurt and his left eye is in bad shape. (Round to Smith, 6-4 Dixon)

Round 12: Dixon's best defense is a good offense as he comes out takes away Smith momentum. He outpoints Smith easily. (Round to Dixon, 7-4 Dixon).

Round 13: The action slows down a bit ,but Smith does a bit more than Dixon and takes the round. (Round to Smith, 7-5 Dixon)

Round 14: Dixon turns the tables in this slower round and he again takes a round. At this point Smith needs a knock out to win the fight. (Round to Dixon, 8-5 Dixon)

Round 15: Smith came out like he needed a knock out. He wins the round easily, but doesn't get his knock out. (Round to Smith, 8-6 Dixon)

After 15, I have 8-6 for Dixon, and rigside expert Danny Wildhawke surpisingly has it 8-6 for Solly Smith! We disagreed on Round 1 (I have it Dixon, he has it Smith, Round 2 (I have it for Dixon, he had it even), Round 6 (I have it Dixon, he has it Smith), and Round 9 (I have it Even, he has it Smith). Should be an interesting decision.

After 15 rounds of action, we go to the referee's scorecard. He scored the bout 8 rounds to 5 for your winner.....and NEW FEATHERWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD....SOLLY SMITH!

Post-Fight Comments: And we have a new featherweight champion. Both the referee and ringside expert disagreed with me, but I guess it was a closer fight than I saw it. Either way, the referee's decision is what counts, and we have a new featherweight champion.

Joe Gans To Defend Lightweight Title

Joe Gans, fresh off his victory over Young Griffo, will make a defense of his title against George Lavigne on December 13th of this year. William "Kid" McPartland is considered the top contender by many, but Lavigne barely edged out McPartland in February earlier this year by decision and Gans has decided to give the chance to him.

Round 1: A very inactive, close round, but Sharkey gets the slight nod. (Round to Sharkey, 1-0 Sharkey)

Round 2: A back and forth round until half way through when Sharkey landed a hook that hurt Goddard. With 30 seconds left, Sharkey again landed a hard shot that had Goddard covering up. (Round to Sharkey, 2-0 Sharkey)

Round 3: Goddard comes out swinging and connects several times. Sharkey mounts a comeback. Round too close to call. (Round Even, 2-0 Sharkey)

Round 4: Sharkey came out looking for a knockout. He didn't get it, but he hurt Goddard from the opening bell to the end of the round. Amazing that Goddard kept his feet. (Round to Sharkey, 3-0 Sharkey)

Round 5: Sharkey dominates another round as it looks more and more like it's only a matter of time before Goddard goes down. (Round to Sharkey, 4-0 Sharkey)

Round 6: Unbeleivable! Goddard takes control of the fight and drops Sharkey! He beat the count but what a show Goddard put on in that round! (Round to Goddard, 4-1 Sharkey)

Round 7: Sharkey learned his lesson and he went after Goddard. This time, it would be Goddard hitting the canvas after a shot to the ribcage. He would beat the count as well. (Round to Sharkey, 5-1 Sharkey)

Round 8: Sharkey spends another round trying to finish off Goddard. With 10 seconds left, he would finally put Goddard down, but he would beat the count again. Goddard's left eye is in bad shape. (Round to Sharkey, 6-1 Sharkey)

Round 9: Goddard hits the canvas again a minute into this round and again he would beat the count. However, near the end of the round, the referee stops the fight stating that Goddard could no longer defend himself and awards the bout to Sharkey.

The referee stops the fight at 2:49 of the 9th round. Your winner by Technical Knock Out..."SAILOR" TOM SHARKEY!

Round 1: A good opening round. Chonyski appeared hurt at one point, but he kept his wits about him and outpointed Jeffries in the opening round. (Round to Chonyski, 1-0 Chonyski)

Round 2: Jeffries starts off strong, but Chonyski quickly takes control back and dominates Jefferies in the last half of the round. (Round to Chonyski, 2-0 Chonyski)

Round 3: An action packed round. First Jeffires hurt Chonyski, then he landed several of his own only to have Jeffries mount another massive offensive. (Round to Jefferies, 2-1 Chonyski)

Round 4: The round started slow but Jefferies hurts Chonyski halfway through and dominates the remainder of the round. (Round to Jefferies, 2-2 Even)

Round 5: Jefferies starts off strong and nearly knocks down Chonyski. Again, Chonyski is able to come back and score some hard shots. Jefferies again lands some clean punches and has Chonyski hurt by the end of the round. (Round to Jefferies, 3-2 Jefferies)

Round 6: Chonyski jumps all over Jefferies as the round begins, but Jefferies brawls right back with him. The entire round saw nonstop action as the two men let loose on each other. (Round Even. 3-2 Jefferies)

Round 7: A much slower round as both fighters are clearly in need of a breather. Jefferies does a little more than Chonyski. (Round to Jefferies, 4-2 Jefferies)

Round 8: Started off slow, but Chonyski lands a stunning shot and starts to open up on Jefferies. (Round to Chonyski, 4-3 Jefferies)

Round 9: The action picks back up with the two men going back and forth. Jefferies seemed to gain just a bit more than Chonyski (Round to Jefferies, 5-3 Jefferies)

Round 10: The round started off slow, but with a minute left, Jefferies landed a hook that sent Chonyski to the canvas for the count!

The fight ends at 2:10 of the 10th round. Your winner by Knock Out...JAMES J. JEFFERIES!!

Round 1: Gans jumps out to an early lead, easily dominating the first round. (Round to Gans, 1-0 Gans)

Round 2: Lavigne starts off with a few solid shots, but Gans quickly takes control and dominates the rest of the round. (Round to Gans, 2-0 Gans)

Round 3: A slower round, but Lavigne barely does anything while Gans lands a good shot every once in awhile. (Round to Gans, 3-0 Gans)

Round 4: For the first 2 minutes, Lavigne had his best round. It was also a good round for Gans as they exchanged blow for blow. Then Gans landed a hard straight that hurt Lavigne and cut him under his left eye. Gans would then dominate the rest of the round. (Round to Gans, 4-0 Gans)

Round 5: Lavigne's best round. He hurt Gans early with a hook and controled the entire round. Gans tried to make a comeback, but Lavigne traded effectively. (Round to Lavigne, 4-1 Gans)

Round 6: The fight has turned from Gans as Lavigne controls another round. No massive shots landed, but a good round for Lavigne. (Round to Lavigne, 4-2 Gans)

Round 7: Gans starts off good but then Lavigne comes back. Lavigne goes after Gans trying to hurt him while Gans answers back. A close, even round of trading. (Round Even, 4-2 Gans)

Round 8: A slow round until halfway through when Lavigne hurt Gans and took control. With about 10 seconds left, Lavigne dropped Gans with a shot to the ribcage. Gans gets right back up only to take a ferw more punches before the bell rings. (Round to Lavigne, 4-3 Gans)

Round 9: The round went back and forth until the end where Gans pulled ahead with several nice shots. (Round to Gans, 5-3 Gans)

Round 10: The round started off with Lavigne landing a good combination, only to be answered with a clean hook. For 3 minutes, the action was nonstop. However, Gans did a little more. (Round to Gans, 6-3 Gans)

Round 11: Lavigne looks like he's just ran out of gas. Gans easily wins this round with little effort. (Round to Gans, 7-3 Gans)

Round 12: Gans starts off easily controling the round. Lavigne tries to make a comeback but he couldn't quite do enough. (Round to Gans, 8-3 Gans)

Round 13: Gans looks to have tired now as well. He wins another round with little resistance. (Round to Gans, 9-3 Gans)

Round 14: Gans again controls the round. With about 30 seconds left, a tired Lavigne dropped to the canvas after a great hook. He got back to his feet and finished the round. (Round to Gans, 10-3 Gans)

Round 15: Gans win the last round again facing little resistance. (Round to Gans, 11-3 Gans)

Well, I have it lopsided for Gans, but that's mostly due to Lavigne just running out of gas after a wonderful round 10. Ringside expert Jaret R. Morgan scores it closer, 9-5 for Gans.

After 15 rounds of action, we head to the referee's scorecard. He scores the bout 11 rounds to 4 rounds for your winner....and STILL LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD....JOE GANS!

Tommy Ryan to move up in weight

Tommy Ryan announced his plans to move up to the middleweight division. The reigning welterweight champion has completely dominated the welterweights and hopes to find more competition in the middleweights. In a nontitle fight last March, Ryan quickly destroyed the middleweight champion, Mysterious Billy Smith. He's seeking to fight Smith right away or take on Joe Walcott before he fights for the title.

Update:

This will continue.....however, I'm dropping the "supporting site" which had title histories and rankings, plus code that helped me move this along (generating a lot of the posts itself.)

I will start it back up at some point. Probably when the next version of the game comes out. I'll update this from time to time, but I hope to hit the year 1900 when the next version comes out. Mainly because that is when boxers start debutting more and more and I hope the next version helps make things a lot easier.

For the boxing tournament....I went overboard. I will start it back up, but will be cutting off the bottom, so to say. The boxers rated 6 or higher will be entered in, giving me 1812 to start (rather than the 4000+ from before). The tournament will be the biggest focus for my dynasties, rather than this one, so it should move faster.

Anyway, let's get on with it.
