Got some bad news
For those of you who remember kerillini, he was a semi-regular poster on the old forums, I've got some bad news.
He's been a 3 year starter for our football team, and was really something special. He wasnt that big, but he was fast and agile. Wasnt quite, D-1 caliber, but some D-1AA schools were showing some interest. On Friday night during the game against our rivals he tore his ACL and MCL. He wont be playing sports for a minimum of 9 months. Right now he's shooting for summer baseball. The ligaments were literally snapped in half. Right now surgery is a definite, but he wont be able to get surgery until his leg can be straightened out, which right now it cant. He'll be going through physical therapy for the next couple of weeks, and hopefully by then it'll heal to the point where they can reconstruct the ligaments. He's kept a pretty good outlook during the whole situation, but you can tell inside he's not very happy with all this. He's looking at a long recovery, with physical therapy pretty much everyday after school for 2-3 hours.

Sad news, hope the surgery and recovery goes well for him.
Dude, you scared me big-time there for a bit. They way you were talking about him in th e past tense made me think that he had collpased and died or something...

Ditto what shorty said. I vaguely remember the name from lurking way back then but in any event that sucks to happen to anyone.

I had pretty much the same reaction JeeberD had. I thought a story of getting hit by a drunk driver was coming. In any event, that really sucks for him. I remember the running back for my high school football team tore his ACL badly and was done for the year as far as any sports went. (I remember kerillini as well.)

I wish him the best of luck with his recovery. When I read your subject line and the preview script, I was really worried, so I relieved that he only torn up his knee.

I wish his recovery well but was in the same boat as JeeberD. When I saw that is was "just a torn ACL" (taken in the context of where I was afraid the story was heading) I actually felt some relief from what I thought was going to have a tragic ending.
I wish him a speedy and full recovery. |

Similar thing happened to our best baseball player last year, during basketball season he tore his ACL and PCL. He missed the entire baseball season, and just got clearance from his surgeon to play football the day before the first football game this season (almost 9 months). It sucks because as a Sophomore he was an All-Conference Pitcher and Outfielder, hopefully he can bounce back this season because he is capable of playing college baseball, the only good thing is he has added about 20 lbs of muscle and is now 6'3" 215.

Well, along with the others I can safely say that this is one of the few times where I was relieved to hear someone had torn their ACL and MCL.
Here's to a speedy recovery.

Sorry guys, reading it over again does make it sound like it was going to lead to his dieing. But he does seem to be dealing with it well, he's cracking jokes about it. Plus he's happy that he gets to drag me and him out of class early to make sure he can get to his next on time.
