Bump, just to let everybody see how good our predictions have been so far.

The one that jump out to me so far is:

Nice bumb MIJB. Some other good ones:

" Bulger will take over for Warner after his less than impressive start, and then run the table." - Senator

"Ravens finish first in the AFC North... Pittsburgh will tank and finish last.. no running attack and Maddox will prove to be a fraud." - RainRaven

"Maurice Clarett sues the NFL" - cuervo72

"Age finally shows for the Raiders and they only win 9 and miss the playoffs" - Leonidas

And for the REALLY fun stuff, I will post the following misses without attribution, to see of people step up and defend them.

"Bills and Chiefs will win their divisions." have to put it here because it annoys me when people pick the Bills.

"Warner throws for 4000 yards" doubt he'll get to 400

"Bill Parcells resigns before the end of the season." I never understood this anyway.

" Kyle Boller wins Rookie of the Year."

"Chargers make the playoffs as a Wild Card and win two games." You meant two games in the playoffs? They might have trouble winning two games."

There are a few more that look very unlikely at this point, but are still possible, so I won't put them here. All of the above I am considering already over.

I'd forgotton about my Colts/Panthers pick. I only now went back to this thread (and noticed TroyF saying I was on drugs... heh).

The Panthers don't look as good after yesterday, but they still lead the conference. I have a $1,500 Vegas ticket on the Panthers to win the NFC, so I don't mind deluding myself for a few more weeks.

I still stand by my Dolphins miss the playoffs prediction. They'll probably fall behind the Patriots when New England beats Denver tonight, and the wild card race in the AFC is going to be brutal down the stretch.

I picked the Ravens to finish last in the AFC North.

This is why I don't bet on football.

I hope I was wrong on my prediction that the Cowboys would go 8-8. While before the season thinking that they would go .500 was a fantastic thought, I'm not sure I could endure a 2-6 finish after the 'Boys really nice start...

An Eagles win tonight will all but lock my "Dolphins miss they playoffs" prediction. Kodos is close to fulfilling his dream of a Wanstedt firing.

Hey, we made the playoffs. That's the important thing. And we didn't even have to sweat it out in the last week.

Carolina's going down...

My Jags predictions were right on - Fred Taylor would have 1500+ yards? Check. Improved defense? Check. Continued QB and WR inconsistency resulting in losses? Check. Etc.

You know, this is my first time looking at this thread, and the only thing I noticed about it is that TroyF consistently misspells Brett Favre's name. I noticed that a long time ago, actually, but when I saw it again in this thread, it just jumped out at me. Sorry.

Let's see, how good (or bad) did I do?

Quote:
2) The Detroit Lions will have a 4-game winning streak
They won two straight at best...
Quote:
2.1) Not a single running back in the NFL will start all 16 games
Jamal Lewis, Ahman Green, LaDainian Tomlinson, Deuce McAllister, Fred Taylor, Priest Holmes, Ricky Williams (the Miami one), Curtis Martin, Tiki Barber, Eddie George and Troy Hambrick make this prediction look stupid.
Quote:
2.1.1) The Jacksonville Jaguars will do good enough to draft #1 overall in 2004
Not quite, the 3-1 streak in December (The Nov. 30 game was in December for European standards), dropped the Jaguars from #1 to #9 in the first round.
Quote:
2.1.1A) The Buccaneers go 15-1, losing only in week 17
The Bucs did lose in week 17, but so did they in 8 other weekends...
Quote:
2.1.1AA) The Giants-Jets game ends in a tie
They would have, if only Brett Conway had missed the game winning field goal with 4 seconds left to play.
Quote:
2.1.1AAA) Rafael Cooper will lead the Lions in rushing touchdowns
Shawn Bryson lead the Lions in rushing, Copper got cut in preseason.
Quote:
2.1.1Last) All former Amsterdam Admirals QBs who make the 53-men rosters will start at least one game (This may include Colts' Jim Kubiak, Falcons' David Rivers and Vikings' Shaun Hill)
Kurt Warner? check.
Jake Delhomme? check.
Jay Fiedler? check.
Shaun Hill? doh!

Thus, I went 0 out of 5.

Would it sound gay if I said I have a man-crush on Ricky Manning Jr. right now?

Odds were 30-1 on a $50 bet. (The $1,500 is the payout, not the wager. I wish....)

But even more important that the money is a.) bragging rights, and b.) I've demonstrated to my wife that gambling is a good thing.

I mean, WOW. This is great. Congrats Maple Leafs! I wish I could pull something this big. I won $37.50 on this weekend's games.. a far cry away from $1500.
