Hogs Taylen Green was great in running but he regressed in passing. RB Jackson has close to 400 yards in 2.5 games. Our defense was atrocious, they need to be better for Auburn next week.

Petrino is living up to his billing as an OC wunderkid. Fans are still predicting a losing season but, just as long as we show progression every year, I'm glad he's back

Don't really root for the Longhorns but I'm glad to see that Arch is doing well. That family stays out of trouble, have some funny commercials, and seem to have pretty good genes.

Arch Manning, nephew of Peyton and Eli, stars with five touchdown game and leads Texas Longhorns to huge win | CNN
Quote:
Manning was thrown into the game during the second quarter when Longhorns starting quarterback Quinn Ewers left the field through injury.

The redshirt freshman then threw for 223 yards and completed nine of 12 passes on his way to throwing four touchdowns.

But it was on the floor that Manning wowed the 101,892 fans in attendance as he rushed for 67 yards to the end zone, leaving the trailing defenders in his wake as he added to the Longhorns’ tally.

Not often that you get two teams from Illinois in the top 25.

on that touchdown run, Arch Manning hit 20.7 mph. The fastest recorded speed so far in the NFL this season was Tyreek Hill at 20.2

Sneaky athleticism.

In an email to season ticket holders Tuesday, Tennessee announced a 10% increase labeled a "talent fee" to season ticket sales.

It's part of revenue sharing between the school and athletes.

Virginia playing at Coastal Carolina for the first time right now, they are already up 7-0 in the first quarter

Sadly Virginia lead start to finish but we did score 24 points sadly we gave up 43. So still a lot of work to do.

Hogs go up 7-0 over Auburn on our second series.

We’ve done well running but much of it was by QB so worried about over reliance. Our defense looked really soft (like last week), Tigers marching down the field pretty good but we got an INT.

An entertaining game so far.

Wild and sloppy offensive play in last 2 min of 1H.

3 interceptions, Hogs 2, Tigers 1

Edit: both Auburn and Hogs have put in QB2. A little disappointed in Taylen Green's first SEC game, he keeps defense off balance because of his great run game, but passing is lacking so far.

After Georgia held them to 3 points to start the season, Clemson has scored more points in two games than any team in the AP era. That's crazy.

They keep talking about that mom for the WR for Auburn on the game versus Arkansas. She is a teacher at my alma mater, and started there the year after I left.

Kent State is only losing by 49 this week. Real progress being made.

Hogs win it 24-14 to go 3-1.

Fugly win but I'll take it. Taylen Green 12/27 for 151 yards, 1 TD and 2 Int, and 80 yards of rushing. Petrino needs to work on his passing game (and confidence).

Looks like beating Aggies is our best chance for a 6-6. SoS is all over the place but 4 top 10 teams is a pretty brutal schedule.

#25 Texas A&M
#6 Tennessee
#16 LSU
Mississippi
#5 Ole Miss
#1 Texas
LA Tech
#7 Missouri

How many decades will we have to endure these overtime rules explanation overkill. This game is on the SEC Network. Everyone that has this channel already knows

Go Vandy.

Would not mind if Missouri crash and burns. One less strong opponent for the Hogs march to a bowl game!

Edit: oh well, wide left. Nice try anyway

Iowa's offense seems less competent than usual. And they seem to have another really good punter

TBF he praised him in that post. But since the overall tenor of the post was correct, I will excuse that brief lapse in judgement.

I don't know if I'm following the latest vampire conference diaries issue properly, but let's see...

Pac 12: Screws up TV negotiations because it refuses to accept that not having a noon eastern game and trying to sell a 11:00 pm eastern game (which ends at 2:30 am) means less value than the other power conferences.

Pac 12: Without a new contract, loses 4 to the Big Ten, 4 to the Big XII and 2 to the ACC. Now just Washington State and Oregon State, which have just a tiny national presence, probably half of that still tied to Ryan Leaf.

Mountain West: We don't want Washington State and Oregon State, unless they accept that they don't have any more individual value than any other school in the Mountain West.

Pac 12: Hey, at least schedule us. Without you, we're scheduling FCS schools, and our brand value will be eliminated. Give us two years.

Mountain West: One year. We'll talk again next year. But you have to promise not to try and split our conference.

Pac 12: OK. Done.

(fast-forward a few months, which in the landscape of college sports is somewhat similar to a few decades for everything else)

Pac 12: Hmmm. About that expansion...

Mountain West: No. We saved your ass. And you promised.

Pac 12: It was Under Duress.

Mountain West: So is everything else in college sports. You still promised.

Pac 12: LAWSUIT!

I think that catches us all up to today. Tomorrow might bring all-new fun, like the pending self-destruction of the ACC and the Big Ten's realization that 18 teams with vastly difference conference schedules is a CINO.

Oregon St and Washington St reportedly had discussions with the Big 12 and ACC, but couldn’t get equal revenue shares from the TV partners. Those two are supposedly getting a windfall from the remaining basketball tournament credits and whatever was left from bowl sharing revenues and I read that the ACC very recently negotiated with them, but were trying to get that money, as a buy-in, to pool together to try to sweeten the pot for uneven revenue sharing (presumably for FSU, Clemson, UNC, and maybe a few others), but weren’t willing to give them full shares for quite some time.

The PAC really got screwed by bad leadership. I think USC and UCLA probably would have left regardless, but them not picking apart the Big 12 a few years ago, when they had the chance, probably cost the Oregon and Washington and cemented their drop in status.
