New post notification (a lesson learned)

I just checked my e-mail and found 20 something e-mails proclaiming a response to a thread I had posted in. FYI, the option to received notification is in the user cp and was turned on by default.

But beyond changing the options, you acutally have to go unsubscribe to anything you've already posted in. It had automatically assumed I wanted to subscribe to anything before I changed the option to "no" on that, but still I had to manuall remove the ones I had already posted in.

Not necessarily. Even if you were using the default setting (notification on) every time you post, you had the option to turn notification off. I just looked in the Control Panel to find out if it is possible for me to default everyone to not subscribing. I couldn't fine such a setting. Everyone should edit their user options.
