Ugh another one gone. Amazing how many that I grew up watching, cheering, listening to as a kid have left us this year. Yeah I know they are celebrities not actual family members but having grown up with these celebrities there still is something more to them. Maybe it is just the fact that I am really starting to feel old?

I think we are destined to feel this way more and more every year. As access to pop culture and sports became more accessible in the 80s and 90s, the list of celebrities only grew and it will continue to do so. Essentially, our number of celebrities grows exponentially. Every year will be more of the same I think.

It'll be time to put me out to pasture if I ever post a "RIP: JWoww" thread.

Yep.

edit: Also, celebs have stayed in the limelight longer. For instance, the Rolling Stones have been making music since the 60s. They have been in the public consciousness for 50+ years. Their early work is still well known and played regularly. I don't think in the 80s you could have said that about stars from the 30s (to whatever extent their works even still existed).

So it sounds like she was done filming her parts for Episode 8, but that she'll have to be written out of Episode 9. I guess they also have time to give her some kind of send-off in 8, if that works with the story.

This. If we find out that her health was failing, then good on her to go out on her own terms.

I doubt she was expecting (and ready) to go out on her own terms. Probably another substance abuser unfortunately

Not like she died within days of committing multiple felonies or anything. Oh, wait.

Here's the thing, she had long accepted her failings, hell she laid 'em out there of her own accord to a significant extent.

I think it's possible to admire the way she fought various demons for a prolonged period regardless of the outcome and still not gloss over the reality of how she died. She was pretty adept at acknowledging her flaws, seems rather incongruent that some fans have a problem with doing the same.

It is what it is. No more, no less. It irked me Friday when the headlines glossed over the clear references to drug use in the initial coroner's report when she didn't exactly shy away from being honest about it.

It was, I dunno, "insulting" for lack of a better word. She wasn't looking to be canonized best I could tell, she didn't seem like she was into having people make excuses for her either.

Do I have issues with her behavior and choices? Yeah. But I can still respect the fact that she tried to own up to her own shit too.

To me that's a more respectful approach to the circumstances of her death than trying to excuse them away (which I've seen done elsewhere online)
