There's A Conspiracy Against Me
Minding my own damn business and then this happens:
(Caveat: I haven't played an RPG video game since I finished Wasteland in December of '89.) 1. Abe Sargent posts a poll that interests me. 2. I vote Microprose. 3. I read the comments. 4. What the hell is Pillars of Eternity, BishopMVP?! 5. Hit up the Google. 6. Watch review. 7. Lose my mind. 8. Fire up Steam. 9. Paradox Interactive has a massive sale going on. 10. Buy PoE and all DLC, and drop off the map for a while. It's a conspiracy, I tell you! I'm not going to get any housework done tomorrow. I hope you are happy, Abe and Bishop! |

Pillars is a really good game with the dlc. I was a backer for it on Kickstart and backed the sequel on Fig that will release next year. Tyranny is a fun game made by the same people that made Pillars. It isn't as long, but it's a different approach to RPG games. Torment: Tides of Numenera is a solid game as well, but not for everyone. It's not as combat focused and almost every encounter can be handled through dialog. Between those and the Divinity games there's been a wonderful rebirth of isometric RPGs lately. |

The first Wasteland on the C64 is still one of my all time favorites and the first RPG I ever finished. |
