Visiting Pittsburgh in a couple weeks

Have a work seminar it Pittsburgh in a couple weeks. I'll be staying at the Westin Convention Center on Penn Ave.

It will be my first time in Pittsburgh. Most of my free time will be spent with work folks doing whatever they are doing. But what are the must-see/must-eat/must-drink places to go/see/do in Pittsburgh? I might be able to convince the group to head out to something cool.

Also, I'm a beer guy. What are some good local Pittsburgh beers/breweries?

The Andy Warhol Museum is really worth a stop.

I think you owe it to the town to have an Iron City beer (likely an IC Light, these days), just for the "when in Rome" value. It is not good. But it is a good thing to do.

Fat Heads was a fun place.

Downtown has a substantial hipster vibe, if that's your thing.

Probably should go to Primanti's(always get double meat and fried eggs, no matter how gross that sounds) and maybe PNC park if you can. Beers would be IC Light and maybe Rolling Rock.

When we went we took in a couple of games at PNC, hit their zoo/aquarium, went up one of the inclines, and ate at the Jerome Bettis restaurant near the stadiums. None of this was particularly avant garde, but I enjoyed the trip.

You'd have to take a cab/uber to get there in the Lawrenceville section of the city, but Church Brew Works is great. They converted on old church into a brewery.

Also, many good restaurants on Penn Avenue as that is the cultural district. Let me know if you want some recommendations.

Only been in town once for a wedding, but if the Pirates are in town I would absolutely recommend going to a game. Cheap tickets, great venue right along the river, and for a mid-large group an easy split off amongst hotel/local bars/casino! options.

What a fun city. I got in before my group, so I went down to the Southside and had some good beers and a deli sandwich. Then I walked back downtown and got a sense of the city that way. Also did manage to try and Iron City for the local flavor. Pens had a Stanley Cup home game, which I didn't attend, but we were downtown beforehand and got to soak up the energy. And Butcher and the Rye was really good.

Did make the Warhol, and now Ai WeiWei is one of my favorite artists, despite not having heard of him a week ago. Did go to the Church BrewWorks. And had an Uber on the way back with a super cool guy with a kicking Yinzer accent, so that also felt like local flavor.

The only two must-sees that I missed were the Dusquene Incline and Pumpy
