I haven't read to this point in the comics, but my guess is Glenn. Maggie would be my second guess.

I went Eugene because of the build up of his character being the trademark of this show to being killed off.

I know it seems unlikely because of what Negan said, but I wouldn't completely rule out Carl. Even if dead, he certainly could have his eye removed and fed to Rick. Though I do have a hard time picturing Rick being able to control his emotions enough to resist getting up and essentially getting himself killed....but I could see some of the Saviors pinning him down.

Much as I love Glenn, I do think it ought to be him, but I think the show takes the easy road and goes with Eugene.

That's actually a good point I was considering myself.

I wonder if they are renegotiating contracts and trying to use this as leverage in those negotiations. Presumably it would be for a major character like Glenn, so maybe that's the conspiracy theory reason for the cliffhanger.

I think it will be Eugene, he fits the pattern of the show's behavior in killing off characters in the past the most. I think it *needs* to be Glenn or Michonne or Daryl, for the good of the show (or Rick or Maggie or Carl, but I'm convinced its not any of them).

dola, I do agree that its quite possible the writers haven't decided yet and that it could depend on contract issues. So that trumps everything, but if its entirely from a story perspective, that's where I'm making my guesses from.

I've been saying this as well - otherwise I don't see why they'd hang it like they did.

I think it should be Glenn or Daryl for the biggest impact.

If I had to bet money, I think it will be Abraham. Of the crew there, he seems like one of the few that would be defiant/willful enough to put his head back up after the first hit. And they have been spending a lot of time on his relationships with Rosita and Sasha (and Eugene).

If it is Rosita, Sasha, Aaron, or Eugene, it will be a huge missed opportunity.

But if it's Abraham (now), that's also a missed opportunity since there's still another angle to play out where he's concerned.

I'd prefer it be either of the women in the Abraham triangle story honest, number of shits I've given about either has been basically nil throughout their run, but they both still have a storyline part to play out yet.

I'm still keeping my money on Eugene, much as the fan in me would hate to see him go.

Don't believe they know who it is yet. I'd imagine Glenn is the failsafe option but Daryl, Abraham or Eugene could get it.

It wouldn't shock me if the fall premiere ends without an answer. Maybe they have an exciting action packed flashback or something and bring back people like Herschel and/or Lori

I think they may swerve us with Maggie due to how Glenn reacted, which sets him up to die next season going after revenge.

Having it be Maggie is probably the only way it made sense to do it as a cliffhanger, as it allows them to cut the shitstorm of outrage that they would be facing for having a man beat a pregnant woman over the head with a bat from 6 months to one week.
