I know a girl who just bought one of those.

Wish I could remember the name of the dealership, but there's a local car dealer in the area that ran, for about a year, commercials of the guy who owned the place, and his wife. The poor guy looked to be in a near coma and his wife was, how can I put this, cat lady like. The whole thing was disturbing on many levels.

What are the benefits of a Squatty Potty over, say, a six inch tall box? Or a couple of last year's phone books?

Aesthetics/slight convienance is about it. It is curved so it slides up against the toilet bowl and as out of the way as possible when not in use. As far as its actual functional purpose, nothing. Point is to raise the legs into a relaxed squatting position, doesn't matter how you do that.

I know far too much about this :P I got one at the (strong) recommendation of PT last year around this time heh.

I do find that if I pull my knees up and into my chest it...relaxes things.

Its still better to have your knees elevated, the animation at 1:06 in the commercial is legit.

Plus, and granted, I don't know much about the schematics of things, but I've eaten really healthy for the past two years after 38 years of not, and things still don't move as good as I'd expect.

Yeah. My point was more that things are exacerbated if you don't have a lot of fiber in your diet.

One of the local car chains has the slogan "(name of the business)...where you come first". I chuckle every time.

Another mattress place has a chilling " how did you sleep last night" that comes across super cheesy/scary.

And these window world people don't just stand behind their windows, they stand on them(literally)

So yes to the squatty potty? I'm hoping it might help with some issues.
