Trading LARGE salaries

Correct me if I'm wrong:

If I trade for a player who has a large contract (BIG BONUS) when he comes to my team his salary will be significantly less because the ORIGINAL team will pay the bonus still right? In other words, I'm just paying the yearly base salary?

Yes, signing bonus is counted on the original team's cap. If there are any subsequent roster bonuses (not in the game) or performance incentives, you'd pay those.

Think "Keyshawn Johnson" and the reason the Buccos couldn't just release him.
