Discount Prescription Plans, anyone using them?
I just entered into the realm of contract employment, where I lost my insurance coverage. I am in the process of setting up my own company and working on an insurance solution (Obamacare!)
Anyways, my Ambien prescription without insurance runs $153, I was thinking of spending the $8/month on a discount prescription plan. So, anyone use one? Is it worth it?

Well, would you save more than $8 month on Ambien?

For the generic? My old insurance would only pay for 20/month, not 30, so I paid full price for 10/month for about a year. For 10 of the generic of regular old Ambien 10mg I paid about $14 or something at CVS. I later learned that Wal Mart pharmacy would have been noticeably cheaper. |

I think I would, I think it would save me close to $70 a month on Ambien.
I had to pay it...it hurt, but it was needed.

Have you checked out the generic? Seen what it would cost at Wal-Mart? If it costs you $8 a month to save $70, I'd think it would be a no-brainer. What kind of strings are attached?

Since I was the one who posted about prices before, I looked it up and Ambien CR (the extended release form) does cost 3-4 times more than the regular ambien, even in generic. So that's probably what it is and there's no need to go on a rant about brand name vs generic which is what I feared at first here.
Good luck getting the Obamacare stuff sorted out. My experience as a self employed individual is that its been a very very good thing and has saved me thousands, I hope it works out that way for you as well! |

Thanks! Yeah the CR is needed as I don't have a problem falling asleep, just staying asleep, it's the reason the Ambien instead of a melatonin program. I should have it worked out within the next 2 weeks.
