I'm a Hawkeye!!!!

It was expected, but yesterday I found out I was accepted in to the University of Iowa!

Whats stupid is that you have to pay $105 "acceptance fee"

Well I am glad to know that the U of M has standards and didn't let a Iowian in. Congrats.

Well Done!!

Although I am concerned about the collective inability to count by that Conference's members. It should be OK if you major in abstract logic.

Just to let you know, even though your not going to school there right now, there will be hell to pay November 15 after we beat you in Kinnick stadium. These Iowa bastards come in and tear down the goal posts in our house.

Congrats, tucker. So glad to hear you aren't a Cyclone.

(Actually, my impression is that Ames is a great town, probably better than Iowa City and that U of I students are more typically prom-queen, silver spooned, arrogant cakeaters, while ISU students are more "real", salt-of-the-earth, good friend types. But I grew up in Eastern Iowa, so...screw ISU. Cyclones suck.)

Congrats.

Now a piece of advice.

Go to your classes. It is so much easier to graduate, if you just do the little things.

Congrats, is the acceptance fee applied even if you don't attend the school? I had to put a $200 deposit for my school but that was a down payment basically to be guaranteed my spot this fall. Is this the same thing or entirely different. If it is different, I did not see anything like that last year when I applied to 5 schools and checked out many others but saw nothing like that.

I was just back in Iowa City for only the second time since graduating in December of '96. Man, I missed the place...of course, seeing them wax Illinois made it all the more sweet.

And for anyone who cares, the band played "Crazy Train," not "Hey Jude," apparently for the first time, like, ever.

Substitue U of I for U of M and ISU for MSU and you have the state of Michigan.

That being said, Go Blue!

no, it's only applied if you decide to go to the school. I think it's about the same thing, it pretty much guarantees that I'll have a spot at the University.

It was a very easy decision for me, as I've lived in Iowa City pretty much my whole life. I'm still very undecided at the moment about my major.

Actually my impression is that Iowa City is a much nicer town. I think the students are more-or-less very similar though. The big difference being that ISU is more of an Agricultral and shit school, while Iowa is more Science and Medicine. So basically students at ISU are rednecks

Bah, old school is if you remember Hayden Fry coaching at North Texas State University (which I don't, but they gave him some award at the one UNT game I've been to this year)...

My girlfriend way back when was an extra in that movie filmed at UNT. It had Simbad and Kathy Ireland. It was weak. I thought that was old school.

Hayden Fry was at UNT? wow.
