We'll do the draft and sim to the start of FA tonight. More on FA in a bit, too.

I need to realign this off-season too. Here's the new setup. Speak now or forever hold your peace (or in a few years)
1864 SLOP REALIGNMENT ----------- AL ---- Cleveland Laborers Cleveland Spiders Rio Grande Boston Chicago Memphis St. Louis San Diego Winnemucca NL ----- Brooklyn Carolina Columbus Lake Tahoe Denver Gettysburg Kauai Washington Wyoming Last edited by Young Drachma : 11-26-2012 at 03:49 PM. |

One of you could move to Akron.

Or stake claim to one of the lovely neighborhoods your city has to offer.

Actually, we could end up with 20 teams. Rio Grande's owner wrote me last week about a vulture in his own family. (Apparently they want to be the Ken Griffey Sr./Jr. of SLOP) But we'd need a 20th owner to do that.

Not a chance!!! Lol I don't mind moving back to the NL if the league "looks" better with a Clevealnd team in either division...

Has there ever been a RL team named after a county? I could rename our "city/county" to Cuyahoga Spiders....

No real life teams named after counties, though I have absolutely no problem with that if you decide it. I have no real problem with two Cleveland teams in the same league, I think the dissonance is that it's Cleveland not New York or LA.
The only real hitch for me is in the game, abbreviating them both. It was easy when it was CLE (A) and CLE (N) but now I'm probably going to just use the team name as the abbreviation (SPI & LAB) Last edited by Young Drachma : 11-26-2012 at 05:43 PM. |

Well to make the role playing of the league better - I say move me back to the NL or switch to Cuyahoga Spiders. Either is fine by me...

Draft complete, leagues realigned and Boston and Denver both now have Winter League affiliates and one less Rookie League team (just converted one of your Rookie teams to the Winter League)

Uploading the file now.
Here's what we'll do for FA. The holiday has thrown us off, but last year proved we have some flexibility with FA. So, we'll do FA1 tomorrow night (Wednesday) to give you all a chance to get offers in, check the game and so forth. Then we'll sim to the start of ST and do FA2 on Thursday. Spring Training on Friday and SLOP's 27th season begins on Monday. So there's no new file tonight. |

FA1 is complete. As noted before, the cap for this year is $125 million, but that just means you get to spend up to $100m like normal, the $25m reserve cap is for arbitration or any trades you make that get you over that $100m mark. Easier for accounting purposes and prevents the FA market from being wild and crazy.
Prepping the file to upload. |

Also with the change in pitcher fatigue from "Average" to "Low" there might be some need to take a look at how you build your rotations. Winter league will be set to "Low" for this year and I've changed the statistical detail down there to very high like the real league, so you can see breakdowns and get a sense of how guys might perform in a full season environment, especially if you're using major leaguers or near major leaguers down there.
Hopefully that helps. We'll sim to the start of spring training tomorrow and do FA2. Then Spring Training is on Friday. File is up. |

So low fatigue really means high fatigue in OOTP?

Quiet off-season overall. A few signings, but no real huge splashes. Should be interesting to see how realignment affects things, too.

We'll sim spring training tomorrow and get down to 27th season of SLOP on Monday. I'll do a draft lottery at some point, probably over the weekend, too.
