GoLive! CS or Dreamweaver MX 2004

I'm in the process of purchasing web design software for my company and have narrowed the field down to these two products.

I have used past versions of Dreamweaver and GoLive and at the time, I preferred DW.

Anyone using either one of these products right now? What are your thoughts;l good or bad?

Thanks guys.

I guess it's out of the question to suggest vi?

I've never tinkered with GoLive but I thought DreamWeaver was pretty useful when I did tinkered with it. Even in spite of Macromedia's inexplicable retardation in user interface design.

Thanks guys. After doing a bit more research, I am pretty sure we will be going with Dreamweaver and all the associated programs like Flash, Freehand etc.

I like the new features that they have added in MX 2004.

I use Dreamweaver in a Web Design course at school and it's very easy to use. I'd recommend it.

I've tinkered a bit with Go Live, but I'm a big fan of DW. I'd like to test drive Go Live a bit more to see if I like it, but DW is just so darn easy to use. MX has a new interface that is a lot more user-friendly and flexible, but you can also use the 4.0 interface if you want.

For my office, the MX Studio was perfect because Fireworks is a solid Web graphics program and I've wanted to dabble in Flash and FreeHand. If you can find a Go Live/Photoshop package, Photoshop is a superior graphics program, but I still use Fireworks for all my Web graphics.

I'm a Visual Studio fan myself. I think VS runs circles around DW, however that is more in the coding area. As far as layout and presentation DW is a good fit. Defiantly #2 in my book.

So between the 2 choices you have there, I'd go with DW.

I have just closed my eyes again
Climbed aboard the Dream Weaver train
Driver take away my worries of today
And leave tomorrow behind...

Dream Weaver... I believe you can get me through the night
Dream Weaver... I believe we can reach the morning light.

Fly me high through the starry skies
Or maybe to an astral plane
Cross the highways of fantasy
Help me to forget today's pain...

Dream Weaver... I believe you can get me through the night
Dream Weaver... I believe we can reach the morning light.

Though the dawn may be coming soon
There still may be some time
Fly me away to the bright side of the moon
And meet me on the other side...

Dream Weaver... I believe you can get me through the night
Dream Weaver... I believe we can reach the morning light.
