Here we go again: Seau in hot water
Is this even a story?

If he was white he'd be suspended.
If he was black it would get little press and not much would happen. Since he's Samoan I'm not sure what PC Ameria will do to him

so,
to recap. Seau jokingly suggests that they overfeed LT to slow him down, mentioning two foods that LT likes to eat. Since those two foods are two foods that are associated with African-Americans, and *gasp* LT is an African-American, Seau is obviously a racist. I see.

The difference between this and Fuzzy seems to be that Seau has a relationship with LT. Fuzzy's comments about Tiger were obviously geered to Tiger being black, not because Tiger ate those foods. Here, Seau has a plausible excuse. I can see how he would say something like this without realizing how it looks out of the context of his friendship with LT.

If LT was a white boy from Georgia, and Seau suggested you feed him chicken fried steak and grits, this would be a non-issue.

Yeah, that's how I see it too. So what if it's true that they ate watermelon and fried chicken? Don't imply that he's being racist. |

I'm assuming that very soon, LT2 will explain that he took it as a joke, wasn't offended, and doesn't see why it's an issue. Then it will go away.
Part of me, though, would like to see him make a big production out of how hurt he was, insist that Seau be suspended for a game, then run for 200 yards against the Dolphins on Sunday, laughing hysterically the whole time. |

It does not matter. Howard Cossell was fired for saying "look at that little monkey run" in reference to an African American player when, just three weeks earlier, he said the exact same thing about a white player. Reality is, if Seau is white this is a huge story even if LT was his friend. ESPN would have this as the lead story.

I like watermelon and fried chicken a whole bunch and everybody where I come from eats that food all the time at potluck dinners and the like. And we only had like one black family on my side of the county.
Hell, I'd never even heard of the association with blacks and chicken until about a year ago, and that was only after living in Michigan, supervising a complex of 740 residents a majority of whom are black for a year. So what does that say? -Anxiety

I don't know what it says, but what race did they become after a year of being black? |

Ah yes, poor positioning of phrases. Only after a year of supervising a complex that's a majority black. Better? -Anxiety

OK, so the complex was black, but what color were the residents?

Well, yeah, if you are pregnant with them. After all, I equate white Georgia boy with being somebody's bitch. Maybe that's just me. -Anxiety P.S. - The above was meant as humor. Please do not take offense as it was disigned to elicit nothing more than a laugh or a smirk, not anger or throwing scissors at your Lord of the Rings calendar. Please don't tell ESPN because I don't want to be fired....

"I wasn't offended at all," Tomlinson said in response to Seau's comments. "You just have to know Junior."
Tomlinson acknowledged that he and Seau, while teammates the last two years with the Chargers, traditionally had fried chicken on Fridays. obviously covering up for that racist SOB Seau.
