Rumor Mill
A morning show here with an agent let the rumor go that Arizona will offer Dick Vermeil a contract at the endo of the season when his expires.

Sorry to burst the rumor bubble, but there's no way that Vermeil leaves KC. He will either retire (which I don't think he will) or get an extension.
As for why he left St. Louis...he was ready to retire. Looking back at it, he believes he should have stayed in St. Louis to enjoy the run a bit more. So I think that will play a part in KC as well. He wants to reap the rewards of the KC team he is putting together. And why KC? Because his good friend KC GM Carl Peterson pleaded with him to come. Remember that before St. Louis lured him out of retirement, Carl Peterson tried to get him to come to KC. Vermeil wasn't ready to get back into football at that point. Peterson finally landed his man and I can see those two retiring together in a few years. |

He'll either coach 1-2 more years in K.C., or retire after this season if they win it all.
I think he will be retired for good at that point. |

Regardless of the potentiality (did I just invent that word?) of this occurring, that would be great from a football fan's perspective (a non-AZ and non-Vermeil fan).

I think a toddler could run a better offense in Chicago than Shoop.

Rams mangement ran Vermeil out of town. It was either Martz or Vermeil, well.... we know the results of that one.

Yeah...leave a Super Bowl contender and come to the black hole of coaching. Let's look at the history of coaches in AZ:
Dave McGiniss - Will be fired at the end of the year. Vince Tobin - Was fired as the DC of Indy after having one of the worse defenses in the history of the NFL. Is now working at the 7-11 on the graveyard shift. Joe Bugel - Run out of Oakland after only one year. Now selling his body for crack. Not even Parcells could make a dent in the culture of failure here.

That gets my vote.....finally some entertainment from the Bears. I add my vote to no way Vermeil leaves KC for Arizona, he won't leave for any other team unless they first agree to sign Trent Green as the QB, and no way Trent is dumb enough to go to the Cardinals.

Do you mean performing sexual favors, becasue he won't get far with that. However selling chunks of his ass to hungry families I could see. He would make a fortune. |

???? I certainly hope that was in jest, considering the originating rumor centered around Dick Vermeil and his coaching future in football.
