NCAA 2004 Online

How many do we have who play online now?

I got my Network Adapter today so I'm registered as VPI972 and I can currently see Bsak16 beating Marmel (Cusefan19952) 38-28 in the fourth. I know people have mentioned their online handles before, but I'm too lazy to look up those threads...Plus, we need to have a central repository for FOFC players..

Edit - make that 38-35 Bsak16

Would a webpage to help us make FOFC games be worthwhile?

Marm and I have some good games. He has won one more game than I have in our series. Neuq, Craigscar, and Alan T also have it.

To be honest, I didn't expect you to throw 5 ints.

Turnovers kill me.

I am officially retiring from NCAA after losing 4 straight now.

Question:

I've played NCAA 2004 a bunch on the Xbox, but I'd love to play online against people. For people who have played both, are the controls pretty much the same on both systems? I've never gotten comfortable with the PS2 controller, but I can adapt. Hell, I played an Intellivision for years, and if you know what THAT controller looked like, the PS2 is a piece of cake.

I'll gladly pick up the network adapter and a PS2 copy if people will still be around playing (and if the controls aren't too wonky). I don't want to buy that stuff right when people are moving on to other games, though. If I want to play dynasty mode, I'll just keep playing on my Xbox.

Help?

I don't know about the difference in controls (I've never played an XBOX), but when it comes to people still playing, I know that was a concern of mine when I decided to get the Network Adapter this week. From how the servers look so far, there are always available players online at any moment, and I know that FOFC-wise, I'll be playing online for a while (NCAA 2004 is the only game I own for the PS2)

When I play NCAA or Madden on PS2 there is some difficulty. The X-Box controller is a lot easier for me, plus it's hard at first to remember the buttons for passing being they have shapes that offer no clue as to where the button would be for it.

Oh, yeah, the shapes on the buttons. That's what gets me more than anything. I'll probably buy the network adapter in a week or two and just give the game a rental.

I have the opposite problem. Trying to adjust to ESPN football on the Xbox is hard for me, because the button that should be my WR on the right isn't. Instead I have to reach to the top button, which should be the bring down the passing icons button. Oh, the confusion!

I play NCAA online once in a while, but play Madden for the most part.
