National Anthem singers

Ok, i'm not a super patriot by any stretch........but shouldn't someone singing our National Anthem, like Renee Fleming at the World Series tonight, not have to use notes...........i clearly saw her checking the words on a piece of paper in her hand. Take some time and learn the song for crying out loud.

Hehe...have you ever sung in front of that many people? 10-1 it's a cheat sheet, just in case. Better to have that as a crutch than mess up the words.

And if nothing else, it probably means she's singing live, which is cool.

I'd rather thye had crib notes than screw up an easy song like the anthem..

I'm sure it's nerve racking to sing on live TV in a stadium full of 50,000 people. I would probably forget my name in that situation, nevermind the words to the anthem...

I'd rather have her have a cheat sheet if she needs it. Otherwise you might get an anthem sung like Leslie Neilsen's character in one of the in Naked Gun movies.
