Jonesing for a TCY Dynasty (ie: Name your school)
I'm Jonesing to start up a TCY/FOF dynasty. Not a coaching dynasty but one following a recruit from bring recruited through into a possible pro career.
It's been a while since I did one of these and I know that they can be risky to do as the player could flop at some point. Because of that I am looking at following several recruits. The question is how to pick them. That brings me to this thread. I'll pick from a list of high schools of your choosing. Let me know what high school you want me to add to my follow list. It will be a little while in the making as I will actually get the dynasty going before I start posting (I have already gotten TCY to 2026, to get some history) and am catching FOF up, using the draft classes from each year. I went with fictional league from the start so the NFL history will be a short one but will be a history of its own. Let me know what high school (or town) you would like me to include.

Quick check and I see 1 recruit from there. 6'5", 270 pound tackle. 409th ranked overall, 38th by position. 16th in the state and top ranked tackle in the state. Depending on how many I get I may follow for a few recruiting classes. |

This isn't starting well. Don't see any from there. Utah does have the #3 rated recruit (#2 rated QB) from Manti. |

If Galesburg sucks (which ironically, you got a better recruit outta there than I think I ever have seen in any TCY game I've played)...is Palm Springs High School, Palm Springs, CA in there?

Unfortunately the High School I played at South HS in SLC closed a few years after I graduated, so I will go with schools I have coached at.

I should have looked closer at Bayshore. Both from there are punters. One is ranked 354th nationally (9th punter nationally). I guess that would tie in to that team sucking as they have combined for over 40 punts in 4 games. Don't see Southeast. |

Nothing in Cyprus. North Canyon has a 6'1", 186 pound safety that is not ranked nationally but 46th in the state and 5th ranked safety in the state. No Westview shown in Avondale but a Agua Fria. |

This isn't working out very well. I may keep an eye on these schools and track them for a few seasons.
With that said I may start a different dynasty that I was thinking up. It's more of a fantasy draft competition where those involved have a "team" selected which will earn points towards their score similar to fantasy football. I would then sim through each week of their college and then pro career to crown a winner. |

I thought about something like this for the scoring (as you can see it was something I was looking over for a little while):
Offensive Points Rushing Yard 0.05 Receiving Yard 0.05 Passing Yard 0.01 Rushing TD 4 Receiving TD 4 Passing TD 2 Reception 0.1 Fumble -1 Interception -1 Key Run Block 1 Pancake 1 Sack Allowed -1 2 Point Conversion Caught 1 2 Point Conversion Rush 1 2 Point Conversion Pass 0.5 Defensive Points Tackle 0.2 Sack 1 Tackle for Loss 1 Interception 1 Pass Defensed 1 Forced Fumble 1 Recovered Fumble 1 Defensive TD 4 Assisted Tackle 0.1 Safety 1 Special Teams Punt Return Yard 0.05 Kick Return Yard 0.05 Special Teams TD 4 Fumble -1 FG 3 XP 1 Missed XP -3 Missed FG -1 Punt Yards 0.05 Blocked Kick -1 Punt Inside 20 2 General College Game Played 1 Pro Game Played 1.5 College Game Won, Played 0.2 Pro Game Won, Played 0.3 College Bowl Win, Played 2 Pro Playoff Win, Played 1 College National Championship, Played 5 Super Bowl Win, Played 5 College Awards All-Conference Team 1 Conference Academic 1 Player of the Year 10 Pro Awards 1st Team All Pro 2 2nd Team All Pro 1 Rookie of Year 5 Player of the Year 5 Season MVP 10 Super Bowl MVP 10 Draft #1 Pick 10 1st Round 7 2nd Round 6 3rd Round 5 4th Round 4 5th Round 3 6th Round 2 7th Round 1 |

Though I could see doubling those numbers depending on how I would come up with doing the draft.

Hey, you could always fire up the tried but true interactives. Lets us pick a recruit and track our guys. They always seem to die out after awhile, but always fun.

I actually like the fantasy football idea with the recruits. Trying to flesh it out a bit first. |
