The Rogue Nation of SterlingIce Endorsements Received: 11 (Shorty3281, Nyarlahoteporia, Vexroid, Klayman, PsychoCopia, JeeberD, Trogdorany, Qwikshot, Digamma, Tcutia, Thealmighty) The Republic of JeeberD Endorsements Received: 20 (Vexroid, Trogdorany, Nyarlahoteporia, Gagneck, Qwikshot, Digamma, Shorty3281, HFPland, Klayman, PsychoCopia, Lcjjdnh, Swaggs, HopiSheep, Hattrickism, Back Stabbers, Sabotland, Marmelicious, Roncomatic, Thealmighty, SterlingIce) The Borderlands of Qwikshot Endorsements Received: 34 (Trogdorany, Vexroid, JeeberD, Shorty3281, HFPland, Hattrickism, Ravnoria, Back Stabbers, HopiSheep, PsychoCopia, Klayman, Bearcat, Swaggs, Coffee Warlord, Nyarlahoteporia, High Test Gasoline, Sublime-Nation, EagleFan, Roncomatic, AJ Tucker, Tree Huggiing Hippies, Digamma, Sabotland, Warpanda, Marmelicious, Tcutia, Lcjjdnh, Thealmighty, Gagneck, Lumenia, Koax, Heybrad, Rendland, SterlingIce) The Community of Digamma Endorsements Received: 12 (Vexroid, Trogdorany, JeeberD, Shorty3281, HFPland, Rendland, Qwikshot, Klayman, Nyarlahoteporia, Warpanda, Thealmighty, SterlingIce) Comments: It's becoming quite clear to me that there are two types of FOFC nations. The first is those that oppress their people in a multitude of ways either by crushing all but industry, ruling with an iron fist and having no rights, or trading personal freedoms in exchange for crushing political freedoms. All three of these new "allies" are the second, which I shall refer to affectionately as "land farms". Unfortunately we will have to learn to live in peace with the land farms for now because if we do not, it will weaken the FOFC as a whole. Both JeeberD and Digamma are Inoffensive Centrist Democracies, three things we most certainly are not: Inoffensive, Centrist, and Democratic, that is. Digamma has no prisons, compassionate people, and free elections with no funding for Law&Order or Defense. They just want to make me puke! JeeberD isn't much better, however, they don't have all the negatives of Digamma. But how can you really hate a county whose currency is the goofnard and whose animal is the marmelicious marmet? Then again, they do have that annoying door-to-door insurance sales industry. Lastly, they make a big deal about having this thing called euthanasia that has something to do with killing old people. Just go get a gun and shoot 'em dead, already. Qwikshot and his nutty Democratic Socialists view capitalist countries as corrupt. I also disagree with his widespread deforstation- as I have said, I may be cold and oppressive but I want my land to be green since it's my back yard. However, he has a good economy with a small, devout people who are fiercely patriotic (read: easy to control) so maybe there is something to his formula. SI

I thank everyone for their endorsement, I think we all should be about equal in endorsements, shows solidarity, and I admit I've been aggressive in pursuance of votes, until I realized I overshot the last delegate by 3 votes...sorry Vex, it wasn't intentional, I just like the idea of being popular.
I'm pleased to be welcomed as part of Sterlingince's sphere of influence..., I do like the idea of giving the people what they want, while I still get what I want under the guise of democracy... I also admit to destroying acres of prime land, but I do plan a restoration project since the nation of SterlingIce brought such issues to my attention.

Issue Seven
Daily Update
Last Issue: Corporations Demand Political Say Our Position: Keep corporation funding regulations Why, In a Nutshell: The piss off the Utopia family Results: "political parties are banned from advertising and receiving private donations" added to our description UN Category: Iron Fist Consumerists Civil Rights: Some Economy: Reasonable (Good) Political Freedoms: Outlawed Tax Rate: 34% (33) Population: 12 million (10) Daily Stat: SterlingIce is ranked 6th in the region and 14,282nd in the world for Largest Gambling Industry. Harry Potter Censorship Row The Issue The latest "Harry Potter" book to hit schools across SterlingIce has stirred up the greatest controversy yet. The Debate 1. "I quite enjoyed the book, until I got to the part where Harry summons evil demons to do his bidding," says religious leader Chastity Utopia. "Now that's just wrong. We need to restore some sense to this debate, by which I mean we should remove this book from the shelves, salt it thoroughly, and burn it." 2. Teachers union President Zeke Washington says, "Come on, the book is fantasy! And it's a damn good read. I'd like the government to issue a statement of support for our teachers and librarians, so kids can enjoy good books without interference from religious wackos, like Christians." The Government Position The government has indicated its intention to follow the recommendations of Option 2. Comments I could care less what the 5 literate people in my country read. If those extra five books sell and help keep the only bookstore in the country open, then so be it- it helps industry and annoys one of the Utopias. Sounds like a winner to me. This is part of the "I don't give a crap about my people's civil rights plan so long as they don't get any political freedoms" plan. I have had no contact yet from the Utopia family about my brother. I fear he may be dead. If he is, politics be damned, I'll just send the army down on them. Wait, I cannot do that- I have no idea how many of my troops are still loyal to me. I will just have to think of something. SI

More Allies
Iron Fist Consumerists Unite!
NOTE: As you may have noticed, I tend to group people together for these "endorsement reports" so I don't want Thealmighty or Fer Deoda to feel like I'm slighting them or a couple of days ago when I skipped a country or two- I just like having a theme to these and you guys will get your endorsements tomorrow when I have a nice little capitalist writeup The Rogue Nation of SterlingIce Endorsements Received: 14 (Shorty3281, Nyarlahoteporia, Vexroid, Klayman, PsychoCopia, JeeberD, Trogdorany, Qwikshot, Digamma, Tcutia, Thealmighty, Twisting Blades, Hattrickism, Fer Deoda) The Holy Empire of Tcutia Endorsements Received: 7 (Qwikshot, Vexroid, Trogdorany, Marmelicious, Nyarlahoteporia, JeeberD, SterlingIce) The Dominion of Twisting Blades Endorsements Received: 6 (Nyarlahoteporia, Trogdorany, Qwikshot, Nightion, JeeberD, SterlingIce) The Dictatorship of Hattrickism Endorsements Received: 11 (Vexroid, Trogdorany, JeeberD, Shorty3281, Qwikshot, Klayman, Nyarlahoteporia, Ravnoria, Marmelicious, Thealmighty, SterlingIce) Comments: All three of today's new allies are Iron Fist Consumerists so referring to people as "human resources" comes naturally. The Holy Empire of Tcutia has the wonderful motto of "If I build it, you'd better come" which I can just hear my dad saying about some swingset or something (ok, not really). They strike a good balance of "unheard of" civil rights and "unheard of" political freedoms all the while having a strong economy. Blade6119's Dominion of Twisting Blades has a motto similar to what is frequently said around here: "What did he say? Kill him!" He has a nice all-pervasive police force which keeps crime low. Rights and freedoms are unheard of and outlawed, respectively. The Dictatorship of Hattrickism is run by a certain fan of a certain name who had a certain player sell for a lot of money in hattrick They have absolutely no crime there, thanks mostly to their all-pervasive police force. I love that the natural animal is the midfielder and it "teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation". I think the demise of the midfielder is greatly exaggerated but prices will be somewhat deflated off what was likely an all time high in hattrick 6. SI

I am the Holy Empire of Tcutia.
I was invited by someone claiming to be from the realm of Evils to join them. I had to decline his invitation to join them because of his wishy washy attitude toward his people. His "Few" civil rights just struck me as much too lenient. If I build it, by God's will my people are going to show up. If God isn't good enough for them, then they'll show up because I told them to or at the point of a bayonet ;-) Patriarch Lokugh Holy Empire of Tcutia "Phear the Phrog!!" Ok, while the server is busy crapping out, let's try this. Any government who has endorsed RNoSI (even the couple I'm still waiting to do a writeup on), if you want to send a few troops for a possible roleplaying conflict, just say so here or by PM. I have a little story I'd like to unfold and it's something that anyone who wants to contribute troops can play along with.
Basically, I'm looking for help in putting down the Utopia family and, as Nyarlahotep suggested, the only troops I can trust are those from allies. FYI, for roleplaying purposes, I'll probably accept more aid from the capitalist and other fluffy bunny countries rather than the tyrants such as myself. I know you guys too well (plus, we'll have more interesting stuff to do later when it's conquering time). Lastly, anyone with a fun plot twist or something they'd like to roleplay into this story, PM me- I have some fun planned and I'm mroe than open to other ideas. SI

Id be more than happy to send troops...but the stipulations are they must be placed in your capitol and you must withdraw all your troops...ill protect it real nice
All kidding aside, im game for some roleplaying, now and when it comes time to kick some ass tyrant style...count me in my ally!

The Rogue Nation or Ravnoria would support such actions. Unfortunately our plan to shut down the UN has exceeded far beyond our imaginations and we have brought the world to a stand still. Therefore, we can not directly endorse you at the moment, but take 30,000 of our "crack" troops. And when I say crack, I mean crack. We're all naked. They don't even wear a loin cloth, but they they have heavy weaponry . . .

Issue Number Wha--?
Daily Update
Last Issue: Harry Potter Censorship Row Our Position: Sure, let them read about the stupid wizard Why, In a Nutshell: I don't really care and it's going against the Utopia family again Results: "the latest Harry Potter book is a bestseller" added to our description UN Category: Father Knows Best State (Iron Fist Consumerists) Civil Rights: Some Economy: Reasonable Political Freedoms: Outlawed Tax Rate: 35% (34) Population: 14 million (12) Daily Stat: SterlingIce is ranked 1st in the region and 1st in the world for connect error [/home/nation/tmp/ranksock]: No such file or directory. Revolution? As I was enjoying the recent best selling Harry Potter book, I wondered why some had been trying to ban this. I also decided I had made a good decision, as I frequently do. I rarely get to enjoy reading, but today was different. Ruling by technology could be quite efficient, but at the moment it was proving to be quite unreliable as an internet outage has crippled much of the country. Well, crippled is a strong word for something that doesn't affect daily necessities. However, it does have a larger impact in RNoSI because of the huge Information Technology industry. The nation's companies were probably losing billions by the day. I have our best people working on the problem but I haven't heard back from them in a couple of hours. To make matters worse, it's making the search for my brother slow to a crawl. RING. At least the phones still worked. There has been no good news today (RING.) since the fire hit the building housing the servers and routers that made up our country's internet backbone. RING. "Hello..." "I see..." "I... I don't know what to do. I'll call you back." By the end of the conversation, the book had been knocked to the floor and forgotten. Maybe I should have been more tolerant or less restrictive and it never would have come to this. No, I can't think that way- I know what is best for my people. I govern this way because they cannot rule themselves. Who are they to do this to me? On my desk, in black ballpoint on a yellow phone message pad: "Utopia family. 50K+ former RNoSI troops. Sterling city limits in 4 days max" SI

Borderlands of Qwikshot will send 1000 of its Lemur Royal Guard. They are specialists in hostile environment tactics, they are skilled in anti-tank abilities.
Borderlands of Qwikshot will also send 500 of its Lemur Engineers. Good at minelaying, minesweeping, and building defensive fortifications, or stabilizing them.

Daily Update- Sunday Last Issue: None Our Position: I'm still opposed to being crushed by my own military Why, In a Nutshell: ... Results: ... UN Category: Father Knows Best State Civil Rights: Some Economy: Reasonable Political Freedoms: Outlawed Tax Rate: 35% Population: 18 million (16) Daily Stat: SterlingIce is ranked 19th in the region and 21,151st in the world for Largest Soda Pop Sector. Same Issue? Apparently the computer flaws have gotten us the exact same Harry Potter issue as before the problems. I still could care less about a wizard book, especially not now. My secret police have more important things to do. Speaking of which... "Duh... Who put the lights out?" (Name the video game the quote is from and get a cookie or something) With the lack of computers, I'm having to rely more on people and I don't trust people. This night, the secret police have reported the Utopia's massive buildups of troops less than 2 days away from the capital city. To complicate matters, I am not able to get messages to and from the troops I have that are still loyal. Apparently the Utopians have cut all lines of communications. I just concluded a meeting with my top generals. They cannot reach their troops via any means. Something odd is going on- I may have lost all of my troops. However, the capital city is somewhat secure. With what limited police force, national guard military, and secret police operatives I have stationed in the city, I should be able to repel attackers for some time. Hopefully it will be long enough for my assassins to take out the main Utopia family members leading this coup. Once they are killed, my army will have to turn back to me or at least scatter. I have sent out messages to allies. I am unsure as to whether the requests for aid have reached their borders of have been stopped by the mysterious communications blackout. I can't possibly spare any more men to send, so I can only hope the messages made it through. Suddenly, a large explosion rocks the capital city and our air raid sirens sound. Except for emergency power, the entire city has gone black. With no power, the defensive advantage of our city is significantly compromised. Now, they might be able to take the capital city in a matter of hours, maybe minutes... SI

What is this foolishness. The damned UN has caused my government to change to a Moralistic Democracy. Pfaugh!!
People are running around all happy, doing what they want instead of what they should be doing: exactly what I tell them to do and no more. This must be stopped. Qwikshot, you are our delegate to the UN...you have to do something about the wishy-washy feelings bunch running that place, or I will have to resign from the body. Patriarch Lokugh Holy Empire of Tcutia PS: I just checked again a few hours later and I have now become a Right Wing Utopia. The HORROR!!! A Dystopia, I could see, but...I will now be imprisoning a few thousand dissidents and slaying random farm animals. Last edited by Lokugh : 10-07-2003 at 05:39 PM. |

Also, while most of our military is currently tied up in re-oppressing my people, Tcutia is sending two companies of our crack Purple Brigade. This totals 500 men (including attached support units).
They are most skilled at riot control and police duties, but are well equipped and trained as light infantry. Patriarch Lokugh Holy Empire of Tcutia "If I build it, you'd better come, regardless of what the UN says." Last edited by Lokugh : 10-07-2003 at 12:15 PM. |

Ok, sorry guys for the lack of updates, but my windows partition decided it needed a wipe this week. Long story short, I didn't really have online access except for a Pentium 166 laptop for the better part of this week. So, once I get my main computer here back up on my feet, I'll be back to posting and continuing the story line.
