WMMA 3: Not quite Jaws, it's Shark Fights [Interactive]
SHARK FIGHTS
Shark Fights is a low level promotion based out of Texas. It features six weight divisions, ranging from Featherweight to Heavyweight. We currently only have roughly 30 fights under contract and our Middleweight and Heavyweight Titles are currently vacant. We currently have 2.5 million dollars in the bank so we have some money to work with but must be careful as we are trying to build a brand. This will still be an interactive dynasty as I will be running tournaments in an effort to build up our roster. I will have more on that in future posts. |

Shark Fights 14: Herman vs Rosa Lineup
- Fans of Shark Fights have been waiting for the promotion to crown a Heavyweight champion, and now at Shark Fights 14 they will do just that. It'll be Dave "Pee-Wee" Herman (17-2) taking on Aaron Rosa (15-3) for the vacant SF Heavyweight title! Expect a war when these two rising Heavyweights battle it out in Texas! - In our Co-Main Event two Middleweights riding win streaks will face one another as Kyle Bracey (4-1) will take on the #1 ranked Middleweight in the company, Danillo "Indio" Villefort (12-3). Bracey can make a statement to the SF fans and the SF brass with an upset win over Villefort, while Villefort can make his claim to a fight for the vacant Middleweight Title with another win. - In the lightweight division the newly signed "Boston Finisher" Calvin Kattar (10-2) takes on Daniel Straus (13-3). It's a classic striker vs wrestler match up, as the heavy handed Kattar will look to finish Straus off before Straus can take the fight to the mat. Straus is currently the class of the division but Kattar will look to change that. - And in the opener, the Featherweight division will be the focus as another newly signed fighter, Justin Taverini (16-9) faces Fanjin Son (5-4). This should be the favorite for Fight of the Night as both guys are kick boxers and neither are afraid to eat a punch if it means giving out one of their own. We expect the fireworks to fly here. |

Shark Fights 15: Alexander vs Jardine Lineup
- In the Main Event of Shark Fights 15, two ex UFC stars take to the cage for the second time as "The Dean of Mean" Keith Jardine (15-9-1) battle "The Assassin" Houston Alexander (11-6). These two light heavyweights are two of Shark Fights biggest names, and although they have struggled in recent fights you can bet they will still put on a show. - In the Co-Main Event, Eric "Bighead" Davila (18-10) gets a shot to show why he is considered the top guy in the welterweight division when he faces the surging Tarec "The Sponge" Saffiedine (10-2). Both guys are riding win streaks into the fight and the winner is all but assured a shot at the vacant SF Welterweight Title. - Two new heavyweights to Shark Fights will collide in what should be a brawl as Carl Seumanutafa (4-3) faces "Hurricane" Abe Wagner (7-3). It's a fight you can expect someone will finish. - In our opener two young featherweights get their chance to shine as Douglas Frey (8-4) takes on Shawn Bias (14-9). Expect a lot of fun when these two take to the cage. |

Shark Fights 15: Alexander vs Jardine
Saturday, Week 2, March 2011 Live from San Antonio, Texas Prelims Light Heavyweight Division Shannon "The Cannon" Ritch (46-73) vs Issac Villanueva (5-4) Issac Villanueva d. Shannon Ritch (Unanimous Decision) [Very Poor] Lightweight Division Lorenzo "The Borg" Borgomeo (5-3) vs Martin Stapleton (7-1) Martin Stapleton d. Lorenzo Borgomeo (Unanimous Decision) [Average] Main Card Featherweight Division Douglas Frey (8-4) vs Shawn Bias (14-9) Round 1: Frey comes out looking to take Bias down. He does just that and after a few elbows he works his way into mount. He quickly secures an armbar and it is tight. Bias tries fighting it but he has to tap! Douglas Frey d. Shawn Bias at 3:15 of the 1st round (Submission - Armbar) [Great] Heavyweight Division Carl Seumanutafa (4-3) vs "Hurricane" Abe Wagner (7-3) Round 1: It's an exciting first round as both guys are trading big shots. Wagner does catch Seumanutafa with a low blow which stops the round momentarily but he is able to keep on. Wagner takes the round thanks to vicious leg kicks that are leaving a mark. Round 2: Wagner continues his leg kicks and then with Seumanutafa leery of being kicked again he leaves himself open to a big right that stuns him. Wagner then knocks the big man down a huge uppercut but he goes for an armbar in mount that is blocked. Still, it's 2-0 Wagner. Round 3: Wagner hits Seumanutafa again with big shots but the big Samoan keeps pressing and he rocks Wagner. The round goes to Carl but it isn't enough to take the fight. Abe Wagner d. Carl Seumanutafa (Unanimous Decision) [Good] Co-Main Event/Welterweight Division Eric "Bighead" Davila (18-10) vs Tarec "The Sponge" Saffiedine (10-2) Round 1: A slow first round. Davila smothers Saffiedine after he cannot get mount. Still he wins a relatively boring round. Round 2: Yawner. We'll give it to The Sponge but it's ugly. Round 3: And we won't bother here. Saffiedine gets a takedown and he holds the fight on the ground. Very, very boring. Tarec Saffiedine d. Eric Davila (Unanimous Decision) [Poor] Main Event/Light Heavyweight Division Houston "The Assassin" Alexander (11-6) vs "The Dean of Mean" Keith Jardine (15-9-1) Round 1: Jardine and Alexander trade blows to start the round. Jardine keeps throwing leg kicks that are clearly affecting Alexander. He is limping badly as the round ends in favor of Jardine. Round 2: The two warriors continue to just slug it out. Jardine is just killing Alexander with leg kicks but Alexander keeps on coming. Jardine gets a knockdown late in the round but Alexander is able to get his wits about him before he is finished. Round 3: Jardine keeps circling on Alexander but he ends up too close to the cage and Houston pounces! He levels Jardine with a barrage of punches and Jardine is slumped against the cage. He continues the attack and Jardine is down and the ref stops it! Houston Alexander d. Keith Jardine at 2:46 of the 3rd round (TKO - Strikes) [Great] Show Review Attendance: 288 for a gate of $6,624 Critical Rating: Good Commercial Rating: Great Fight of the Night: Houston Alexander vs Keith Jardine KO of the Night: Houston Alexander Submission of the Night: Douglas Frey - Houston Alexander officially retires following the fight |

Shark Fights 16: Paige vs Ellenberger
- In the Main Event of Shark Fights 16 two young fighters riding win streaks will face off as Joe Ellenberger (10-0) takes on "Mr. Fantastic" Spencer Paige (7-2). Ellenberger is a wrestler with tremendous physical ability but he will be facing a vicious striker in Paige. The winner of this fight will be involved in a fight for the newly created SF Lightweight Title! - Our Co-Main Event features a former SF champion, as Gerald Harris (17-3) takes on Nissen Osterneck (7-3). Harris is a former SF Middleweight Champion, and a win here will earn him another shot at his title. He is out to prove Dana White was wrong for cutting him, but the muay thai specialist Osterneck is going to give him a fight. More TBA! |
