K-Rod KO's Father in Law

Quote:
Francisco Rodriguez, the Mets' emotional closer, was involved in an altercation Wednesday night that spilled into the hallway outside the Family Lounge at Citi Field after a 6-2 loss to the Rockies. The Mets have confirmed that the altercation involved a family member.

The disagreement spilled over into the hallway, where family members, including women and children, were waiting for players after the game. Rodriguez was yelling as he was pushed back from the Family Lounge into the hallway. Security arrived, stopped foot traffic in the hallway as they pulled the pitcher from the group and hustled him back into the clubhouse.

When approached and asked about the scene in the hallway, the visibly angry Rodriguez told a reporter who witnessed it:

"Mind your own f--- business."

He immediately left the clubhouse.

The rumor is he punched out his father in law.

From the NY Post:

Quote:
K-Rod's temper is apparently as hot as his hand.

Mets' closer Francisco Rodriguez was arrested at Citi Field tonight after slugging his father-in-law following the team's loss to the Colorado Rockies, police said.

K-Rod, as the 28-year-old righthander is known, was charged with assault after he and his father-in-law got into a fight at the Mets clubhouse, police said. The father-in-law was hospitalized with facial bruises and minor head injuries, police said.

There is no immediate word what sparked the post-game punch-up. K-Rod was not a factor in tonight's 6-2 loss to the Rockies, as GM Jerry Manuel used Manny Acosta to pitch the nint

K-Rod's handy work.

So what does the MLB even do to him? He's already on the Mets so suspending him is just like giving him a get out of jail free card.

haha, well played.

That father-in-law might be regretting this one in the morning, not likely he'll be seeing anymore of KRods unearned $40M.

After the divorce, the lawsuit settlements (he'll find a way to sue the Mets/MLB) and the free publicity, he'll be set.

Seriously, the Mets may have been handed an olive branch here. I wonder if there is any way they can void his contract now? Seems like it'd be the best thing for them.

Heard he flipped out when the father-in-law told him that he would've been happier if his daughter ended up marrying the gardener.
