teams that have impressed you most

1. usc - see, pac-10? good defense has some advantages. look into it

2. texas - only played one game, and started slow, but beat the ever-loving shit out of nmst for 3 quarters

3. wake forest - what a fun offense

4. fsu - i think they are officially back now

1. Michigan: no they really haven't played anyone yet, but they sure as hell look good beating the crap out of nobody's.

2. Miami: If the real Brock Berlin is the 2nd half one and not the 1st half one, I feel sorry for everyone else they play.

3. Virginia Tech: see Michigan above.

4. Marshall: had to put them on here. I thought Tennessee would put them away fairly easily, but they hung in there and had a chance to win in the 4th quarter. And Stan Hill shut up a few doubters.

5. FSU: So far I agree with what is said above.

Pac-10 graded out better than the Big 12 in total defense last year, after adjusting for schedule.

I'm glad you feel that way but Oct.11 is when we'll see if my beloved Noles are back or not.

Scooper: Norte Dame is the luckiest team I've ever seen, Miami and Ohio State as well.

I was at the UNT-Baylor last night, and Baylor is going to be in for a long, long season. UNT ran the ball down their throats with ease, plus the six first half Baylor turnovers didn't hurt the Mean Green either....

Miami
Florida State (I don't even want to think about Colorado going down there right now)
Boston College
Wake Forest
California (yeah, they are 0-2, but considering how much this team lost and how young their roster is, they've played a lot better than I expected them to)

A bit lucky, yes. But the defense played well the entire game and they finally found a running game the second half. It was not luck that made Julious Jones break tackles and outrun defenders. The offensive coordinator frustrates me with his lack of commitment to the running game. They have two good backs, use them.

While we're talking PAC-10 defense, I think WSU's front seven is very strong.

Miami lucky? I think they just woke up and decided they wanted to win the game. Once they did, there was no stopping them.

While i agree, besides oregon state who is that going to help them against in the PAC-10...this conferece doesnt like running, and is part of the reason why it is the most exciting conference in the land...a run d is all nice, but to beat Arizona state, USC, and washington you need pass d.

I have to give a heads up to OU.

WHy did they impress me? QB Jason White. I ragged on him a bunch in the offseason. But if he continues to perform at this level. OU has a very good shoot at another undefeated season, and a national title. He is making far less mistakes, and it looks as though he has spent quite a bit of time working on progressing through his recievers.

I can't wait for the OU-Texas game, as this should be another great contest.

It can help them get pressure on the passer. Their blitz package looked good on Saturday.
