Itunes Question - Sharing
My wife is able to copy my son's songs via home sharing. She can play mine, but she's unable to copy so that she can play them on her iphone.
Anyone know how to do this? When she looks in itunes, there is a house icon next my son's library and a file stack icon next to mine. If it is a setting, I'll be damned if I can find it.

I think in order to copy, you need to have the iTunes software authorized for the account. One account can be authorized on up to 5 computers.
However, if your wife hooks her iPhone into your son's (or your?..I think I got lost on whose she can't play on the iPhone) computer, she should be able to move them to her iPhone with no issue. Of course, that may not be it, either, I'm not familiar with iTunes sharing. /tk

We've authorized each of the computers already.
Thanks though tk!

I don't believe you can copy the songs via home sharing. just play.
I know we would like to let my wife make a playlist for herself from my shared library, and it can't be done.

Just found this: Beginner’s Guide to Sharing iTunes Music | iLounge Article
Looks like you can't copy. "When you share music with iTunes, you provide other users with the possibility to listen to your songs, not to copy them or keep them" /tk

Well, I think I figured it out.
You can designate one of the computers as the Home computer. This allows the other computers to copy music from it, up to 5. What you can't do is have all of the computers designated as the Home. My wife and son had specified the other's PC as the Home, which allowed them to copy from each other. Since we added in my PC yesterday, that kind of gummed up the works. Thanks guys.
