2010 Pro Bowl

I didnt want to start a new thread on this subject and didnt see a pro bowl discussion thread so I figured Id put this here.

http://www.tsn.ca/nfl/story/?id=308290

Quote:
Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Minnesota Vikings offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie has reportedly been kicked off the NFC team at the Pro Bowl after missing a majority of team practices and meetings.
According to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, McKinnie attended only one practice and one meeting all week and is subject to a fine from the league.
McKinnie, who started all 16 games on the Vikings' offensive line in 2009, was making his first Pro Bowl appearance in his eighth NFL season.

Disrespectful to the other players if you ask me but I am guessing numerous players feel pretty much the same about this game after a long season.

The Pro Bowl has become a true joke. David Gerrard is playing as like the 6th QB thanks to injuries and the Super Bowl.

I truly don't think anyone cares about Pro Bowl practice. I don't blame him, I wouldn't go either.

The Pro Bowl has become a joke, but it is pathetic when a professional who is being paid to practice and play can't treat his job professionally. He should have just dropped out of the game on his own if he didn't want to participate.

Pat Willis pulled out of the Pro Bowl. At least he had the intelligence to cite injury as the reason.

Do we discuss the MLB All-Star game? Isn't the NFL the only league without a skills competition during their all-star festivities? Not much to talk about.

I've had the game on though and it's been good, I thought. I mean, better than the Grammy's anyway.

Romo with the pick to cost the NFC a chance at the game, I guess it must still be the postseason...

Appears the Pro-Bowl the week before the Super Bowl worked well ratings wise:

I would have watched the pro bowl if it was on a broadcast network.

Thats interesting. Wouldnt have thought it would have made any difference.

I did like it better being in Miami though instead of Hawaii. It gave the impression a little better than it wasnt a flag football game. Something about Hula shirts made me not want to watch the game.

fwiw it was the first pro bowl I have ever watched. I would most likely watch it again if it was the week before the pro bowl rather than the week after. Can't really explain why since I actually thought it was a bad move and that was all backed up with how they required the super bowl players to fly down early and attend the game.

It's for the obvious reason that after the Super Bowl people figure they've gotten their football fix and its offseason time. While the week before the SB, people are still jonesing on pro football and will watch the Pro-Bowl instead of just having a Sunday off.

Pro Bowl: Where 8th string QB's happen.

Was this the order basically?
Peyton-super bowl
Brady-hurt
Rivers-hurt
Ben-hurt
Shaub-played
Palmer-Hurt?
VY
Gerrard?

I mean, I almost have to think Flacco was above Gerrard too?

The next guys would have been
Orton
Sanchez
Cassell
Henne
Edwards(?)
Russell(?)
Derek Anderson

I mean, were JaBustus or Derek Anderson or Trent F'n Edwards just a couple heartbeats away from getting to play.... Seriously?
