6.0 quake hits Guatemala
Ok, I'm officially a little freaked. 3 quakes, over the last week, hitting the same tectonic plate. I wonder how often that happens. A few volcano eruptions in the Caribbean next?

Since it was much less intense, hopefully it won't be nearly as devastating. |

A 6.0 is 10 times less powerful than a 7.0. This is not all that surprising really, that plate must have had a lot of stress in the faults and each quake is shifting stress further down the line.

yes yes...i know my richter scale. just saying...6.0 can still cause plenty of damage, especially if it hits in the right (well wrong, but you know what i mean) spot.

In all seriousness they have had 49 quakes of 4.5 or higher since the 7.0 in Haiti. I really feel for them, that many that strong will make you really think the ground is always moving.
